The Curse One Sheet on Collector’s Corner with Johnny Brento

I picked up an amazing original one sheet for 1987’s “The Curse.”

Nathan Hayes is a religious man trying to hold onto his farm and keep his family in line. A real estate developer is trying to buy most of the farm property in the area, including Mr. Hayes family farm, in the hope that the Tennesse Valley Authority will choose the town for the site of a new dam and recreational area. The night of a terrible storm, an unidentified, glowing object crashes on the Hayes farm and with it comes a horrible curse for the Hayes family and the members of the community. In this second adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s story “The Colour out of Space,” a huge, glowing meteorite falls on a farm in Tellico Plains, Tennesse. After the meteorite melts into the soil, strange mutations occur on the farm. The fruit and livestock become filled with maggots, cabbage and chickens become filled with green slime, and certain members of the farm family become swollen, slime-drooling mutants. Now two of the farmer’s children who wisely avoided the meteorite’s contamination seek outside help.

  1. Brento! The Curse….one of my favs of the 1980’s. I still own the VHS of this movie and would love to upgrade to a quality dvd.

  2. JayBird, did you realize that they made 3 unrelated sequels? I recommend The Curse #2 actually. Crazy Snake-head monsters. Really cool special effects in that one!
