Charlotte, NC — The South’s wildest pop culture event is back for it’s second year as the Mad Monster Party returns to the Queen City! Mutantville.com is proud to rejoin our friends from Mad Monster Magazine to present the Second Annual Mad Monster Party Film Festival 2013! At the Mad Monster Party at Charlotte’s Blake Hotel – independent filmmakers will have a chance to have their work screened for rabid audiences of horror and sci-fi fans, PLUS – you never know what Hollywood movie royalty might pop in to enjoy a screening. Last year, audiences were joined by movie luminaries such as James Hong who stopped by to enjoy a few of the screenings with the fans. In attendance at the Mad Monster Party will be stars:

From the zombie-trendsetter NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD to Sci-Fi cult fave DARK STAR to EVIL DEAD (the Sam Raimi star-maker) and beyond – independent filmmakers have always been the lifeblood of speculative fiction. Today Mutantville.com and Mad Monster Party are on a mission to discover the future stars of independent filmmaking – and this means YOU! We are currently accepting submissions for the best in horror, science fiction or fantasy films. Short and full-length features will be accepted. This year we are opening the festival to makers of fan films so if you have any kind of horror, sci-fi or fantasy movie – you can send it to us! Entries will be judged on originality and craft with awards given for the best in each category. There is NO FEE for entry.
Submissions must be received no later than February 15th, 2013.
