The Mad Monster Party Recap Show

How does one recap such an epic adventure as Mad Monster Party? It takes a certain amount of time to step back and get perspective on what an epic event the promoters managed to put on for the regional horror fans. Unless you’ve visited lesser cons, you really lack the experience to see MMP for the really big and pretty well coordinated show that it is.

Once again, Mutantville was on hand to run the film festival. While it might be possible that I am somewhat biased, I think MVP’s Mad Monster Film Festival in it’s sophomoric outing really cemented itself as one of the states premier film festivals. Given that nothing comes close to Nevermore Film Festival at the present time, I think it’s fair to say that there are certainly more poorly ran convention film festivals out there and unlike so many of them, our’s can still boast it’s entry fee of zero dollars! In fact, Mutantville currently comes out of pocket for all promotional items to get people into the room for the Films. This year Streebo even pulled off an 11th hour custom illustration to transform the Blake Hotel’s Mecklenberg 3 Conference room into the HALL OF DOOM!

Muticia’s and Mutie were on hand Saturday during a period in which I’m told that Tales From Mutantville DVD’s were flying off the racks. Oh, yeah! Did I mention that the official DVD’s for both Tales From Mutantville and G.H.O.S.T. made their 1st public appearances at the con? It’s true! It’s DARN true! Shrink wrapped Baby! That’s what I’m talking about. I as finally able to remove the massive G.H.O.S.T. project files from my primary editing drive and ANVIL gave a sigh of relief. With our two Mutantville babies official birthed, it felt great to see folks buying them and their respective T-shirts and asking questions about the stories and such. Seeing a project completed is so satisfying!
