The Halloween Tour with Johnny Brento and Absolute Zero

All the world is just a stage and we are merely players indeed. I sometimes wish I were just a film maker or just a special effects guy or what have you, but God, in his infinite wisdom has made me a multi-faceted artist. I’m glad he did because that means I get to play more roles!

I’ve been criticized for being into too many things. The truth is, I couldn’t care less about the haters. Artistically, I am what I am. I love film making, martial arts and making music. Despite what some would like to believe, I am accomplished in all those areas.

3 original music albums made to date and working on the 4th. 2005 National Jiu-Jitsu BudWiser Champ, Relson Gracie Worlds Co-Champion. I’ve written and directed 2 short films and produced, provided visual effects and co-edited an original horror feature which will screen this Sunday for the first time. I’ve LOVED all of it!!!

None of these things could be accomplished without commitment and focus. During phases in my life one passion will take over and the others will take a back seat. There’s something to be said for a broad range of experience.

(Read the rest after the leap!)

Lately, the musical passion has taken over somewhat. An opportunity for my band Absolute Zero to play at a festival came our way. We needed a drummer, since our old one kind of lost interest. Ironically, we found one right inside the MVP family in Jeremy Mullis. You’ve seen him on the set of Indigo Child and Respawner. My base player is also an MVP regular, effects guru Todd A. Britt. 2 weeks of 5 practices a week later and we’re on stage in the park with the old AZ fire. That was only the first gig of the day. I should also mention that this was Jeremy’s first gig ever and he did great!

With the night came one of the coolest Halloween party’s I’ve ever seen. Absolute Zero performed as did my side band, Looking for Finland. Despite it being a bit cold to be playing outside, due to plenty of practice with both bands, it came off without a hitch and the crowd seemed well entertained.

I was even inspired to create this improvised character to bring you the behind the scenes media along with my evil sidekick. After the leap, In honor of MVP Halloween week, I’ve posted a small preview of the Halloween show for your viewing enjoyment. The entire show will be made available for anyone interested at my cost to create the dvd. For next week’s JuJu, I’ll share something from the charity benefit show in YMCA park.

Absolute Zero will next be appearing at The Daily Grind in Locust NC on October 29th.

Also be sure to check out this crazy Looking For Finland interpretation of a Beatles classic! It’s our original and completely unique arrangement. Be sure to leave a comment on the Youtube page for Bryan.
