Recently I watched The Awakening which was directed by Nick Murphy and released in 2011. The film takes place in England around 1921. It is about Florence Cathcart, an author/ghost hunter that exposes hoaxes that involve ghost or the paranormal. She’s approached by a school to get her to find or debunk a child ghost that has been seen there. It’s interesting because she starts questioning reality at times while looking for this ghost. Rebecca Hall plays Ms. Cathcart as a lady that doesn’t believe in ghosts but seems to have doubts about her beliefs. The film also stars Dominic West. You may recognize him as the douchey guy, Theron, in the film 300. Of course he’s been other characters as well.
I don’t really want to go into more about the story because I don’t want to give too much of it away.
