This week on Scary Movie Saturday, we’re featuring one of the rare fantasy worlds that combines superheroes and horror – in Todd MacFarlane’s Spawn: The Animated Series. This clip features the first three episodes of season one that aired on HBO. If you haven’t seen it – it’s a great adaptation of the Spawn mythos and much more faithful to the grittiness of the comic series than the big budget movie that came out at the same time. So if you’re a fan of adult anime superhero and horror movies like Wicked City, Ninja Scroll, and Vampire Hunter D – then Spawn the Animated Series is right up your alley. It tells the grown up sort of superhero stories that the Superfriends were afraid to tell.
