(Get your Friday update after the leap!)

MVP IN YOUR HOUSE!!!

Tuesday, Geo posted a very cool interview that he conducted with Martin of Attrition.  You can listen to the entire interview on the MutantvillePlayers Youtube account.  Wednesday, Brento posted about a subject near and dear to his heart about how the Alcoa company has hurt the local economy of Stanly County.  Thursday, Streebo (that’s me) posted another round of Streeborama about the work of Francisco Goya.

LOCAL CINEMA NEWS!!!

Next weekend, four Charlotte made movies will play during the Modern Film Fest  held from Sept. 30th to October 1st in Kannaopolis.  The movies on the schedule include the world premiere of Witness Insecurity starring Edward Furlong (of Terminator 2 fame), Redneck Roots, Tony Elwood’s Cold Storage and Gary Wheeler’s The Trial.  A lot of our friends from the local Charlotte Film Community worked on and/or acted in these movies so if you’re in the area – take the time to check them out.

RED STATE HITS NORTH CAROLINA!!!

In other news, Kevin Smith’s Red State finally hits North Carolina.  In case you’re unfamiliar with the saga of Red State – just hit the “Red State” tag below to find the multiplicity of articles posted on Mutantville.com that chronicle Smith’s quest for independence and celebrate his defiance in the face of old Hollywood tradition.  Red State is playing in the theaters across the country for one night only.  North Carolina residents can attend the screening at the Galaxy Theater in Cary and participate in the live Kevin Smith Q&A afterward via twitter.  For more information check out the official Red State website here.

HORROR ON YOUR TV!!!

In horror news, AMC has announced that they are launching a discussion show to follow season two of The Walking Dead.  The story of The Walking Dead has been long and varied as it made the transition from hit horror comic book written by Robert Kirkman to the number one television show on AMC produced by Frank Darabount to the start of its second season during which not only were the writers fired – but Frank Darabount himself was given the boot.  None of this bodes well for the quality of the coming season – but AMC is ignoring this fact by launching this new show The Talking Dead to be hosted by Chris Hardwicke of House of 1000 Corpses fame.  The show will launch after the premiere of season two on October 16th and will resume on November 4th.
