Hey, what do you know, Mutants? It’s Halloween. Happy Halloween!!! Don’t eat too much candy! Be sure to pop over and check out Muticia’s Movie Morgue, won’t you. A lot of folks worked very hard to bring that little treat to you and it is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone!
If you like what you see, share it, like it and promote the ever loving heck out of it to all of your friends. THAT, my furry, mutated, net dwelling friends is the only way you’ll get to see another episode. It takes no small effort to put together something of the quality of “Mutica’s Movie Morgue Episode #1” and we’re only getting better. Our sincere hope is to up the level of the show to a budgeted affair, if enough interest is shown in the product.
I think that MMM Ep#1 is probably the best thing Jamie has written and is certainly one of the best executions from scrip to screen that we’ve collectively been involved in. This occurred to me during the many re-watches required in the editing and breaking up work, to put the show into upload-able chunks. It’s legitimately well written, performed and yes, funny! Of course I find it ironic that despite the serious horror shorts and feature films we’ve focused on, the thing that could well become Mutantville’s legacy is the one thing we produced with tongue firmly planted in check.
Anyways, really, who knows if the future holds another episode of, “Muticia’s Movie Morgue?” If it does, I know that it will bigger and better because that’s all we do, move forward and up our game. It’ll take a budget of some kind, lots of prep and commitment from a cast and crew and won’t happen overnight. I guess I’m just really excited to have the one example of MMM out there in the arms of the Internet. The character, the show and the concept are firmly planted in reality now. The Mutantville Players did this together and there you have it. For what comes next, only tomorrow knows.
Before we got around to actually making our “Muticia’s Movie Morgue” a reality, we’d long admired shows such as Cryptique’s, “Miko Macabre.” I watched each of their 3 episodes multiple times and thought it was a funny and clever program. The show makes fun of itself and the lack of any real budget or production value. It just works! If you like MMM, I think you’re more than likely going to dig Miko Macabre and encourage you to check it out.
Then show ran afoul of Youtube and seemed to run into hosting issues. As far as I know it’s dormant now and that’s kind of a bummer. It does make me think that to exploit Youtube traffic and pass the “Flash in the Pan” level of other shows, we’ll need to find a way to avoid the ever so loosely interpreted “Fair Use” act. I think future episodes could perhaps shift focus to independent films who’d grant us permission for their inclusion.
There’s one way and that’s forward. More Muticia’s Movie Morgue, MVP Radio or some other creative venture will capture our hearts and minds and we’ll be off on another grand adventure through the skies of Mutantville before you know it. Remember, not all who wander are lost
