Looking at Speculative Fiction from Another Dimension.

MVP ready to kick off 2013 with Mad Monster Party, Nevermore and You on Mutantville Mondays.

What a wild strange weekend it was in the land of MVP. We set out to start our weekend with a pilgrimage to see one of the greatest science fiction movies ever created at the theater – only to find out at the last minute that the print for 2001: A Space Odyssey was delayed by Warner Bros. – thus spoiling our pilgrimage and leaving the day in a bit of a slump. Fortunately we were able to rectify that with a nice blu ray viewing of 2001: A Space Odyssey and it did help take some of the sting away.

Fortunately – things are moving along at a brisk pace as the first major convention of the year – Charlotte’s own Mad Monster Party – lurks just around the corner – and everyone is getting excited about it. Fans are psyched to see the big names that are coming such as Bruce Campbell, Harau Nakujima, Kirk Hammett and so many more – while filmmakers are getting excited to be a part of the Second Annual Mad Monster Party Film Festival. Be sure to download the submission form and send in your movies – now! Don’t wait! The Mutantville Players are gearing up to shoot a special promo for the convention and festival so stay tuned as more on that develops.

Before we make it to MMP – we have the Nevermore Film Festival waiting for us in February. Before then – there’s the Nevermore Fundraiser which will consist of a double feature of Evil Dead and Evil Dead II. Can you say “groovy”? I knew you could. So what are you waiting for? There’s a ton of stuff to do so let’s get to it. We’ll leave you with a selection of Mutant TV to keep you entertained in the meantime.
