MVP Battles Techno Plague, Mad Monster Party to return to Charlotte in 2013 and More on Fridays with MVP!

The days after Halloween are always somewhat sombre times for the Mutantville Players. It’s strange to see the world change from a month long celebration of darkness and suddenly switch on a dime – with pumpkins vanishing in the daylight like Cinderella’s coach and driver – only to be replaced by rows of cherubic angels and snowflakes.  The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are celebrations of friends and family but for the hardcore fans of horror – the holidays are downright depressing.  Who the hell wants to watch a bunch of happy go lucky feel good movies for the next two months?

The good news is that the final vestiges of Halloween have not evaporated in the light as the Mutantville Players are headed to a final Halloween gathering this weekend complete with a DJ,  a haunted trail and accompanying music from MVP’s own Absolute Zero!  Yes, the same Absolute Zero that was featured on the premiere episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue.  So if you’re looking for one final Halloween celebration to close out the season – come join us in Concord this Saturday as we close the season in style.

Get the rest of your update after the frakkin leap, yo!

In other news – ongoing technical problems plague the Mutantville Mothership.  Although we managed to put out a record amount of media to celebrate and promote all through October – we have been assaulted by technical snafus and fuckups for the past six weeks.  It started with our Twitter ID of @MVP being stolen by a piece of shit hacker name “Tyler”.  We have links to his Youtube account where he likes to post videos of himself doing pushups so if you want to stop by and dislike all of his videos -that is just fine with me.

We’ve also faced coutless errors launching the signup forms for Muticia’s Movie Morgue – which was also plagued by endless copyright infringement claims on our public domain version of Night of the Living Dead.  We’re literally in the middle of disputing the final claims and clearing all of the footage so we can put the movie into the Movie Morgue playlist so fans can enjoy the show the way it was meant to be seen.  Lastly – MVP Mutant Radio has not escaped the clutches of technical fuckuperry as our RSS feed stopped updated our iTunes listing about six weeks ago.  We’ve been working diligently to find the various HTML errors from the feed that might be contributing to the broken feed – but we’ve reached a dead end and are currently waiting patiently for a response from Lib Syn technical support.  Like the saying goes – if it was easy everyone would do it.

Luckily we’re used to hardship.  At MVP we tough it out and make it work the best we can.  How else could we have brought you an October where we posted three promo videos on youtube, released seven episodes of MVP Mutant Radio – including the massive Murder By Music Vol. 2 on Halloween, in addition to releasing our full length feature G.H.O.S.T. to DVD, our horror anthology Tales from Mutantville, and of course Muticia’s Movie Morgue featuring George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead!  Somehow old Streebo even managed to pull off an MVP first by putting in appearances on three podcasts that were all released on Halloween day!  How’s that for promoting your pumpkin ass off! Speaking of podcasts – be sure to check out those Halloween episodes of Exploited Cinema, Land of the Creeps – and of course MVP Mutant Radio!

Anyway – we survived another Halloween and are now ready to quietly drift through the Winter as we promote the upcoming Mad Monster Party Film Festival coming our way in March 2013.  Fear not – for the downtime does not mean that the creative factories of MVP will be quiet for we have plans of eBooks, documentaries and even MVP’s filmmaking series “How to Make Your Movie for $20 A Day – the No Budget Way!”

October was all that and a bag of pumpkin chips – and the rest of the year will be the same.  That’s about all for now.  It’s time to kick back and enjoy a quiet weekend for a change.  There are still plenty of great movies playing at the theater that we need to get out to see.  Maybe I’ll be in the aisle behind you – if so – then please turn off your phone so I don’t hit you in the back of the head with a booger covered piece of popcorn.

Streebo luvs ya.  We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.
