Despite the gray wet fog that sedated most of the state – MVP had another productive weekend. We started the weekend right by going to see Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining in 35mm at Retrofantasma on Friday night. Brento was able to work on The Metatron Files preproduction and while Streebo put the finishing touches on the final version of the script for episode one.

The final script for the first episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue went out to actors over the weekend and was well received. More news on that as things develop in the coming month. There was a lot of activity behind the scenes as we got word that our films did not make the cut for this year’s Nevermore Film Festival.

Not to be deterred we were happy to find out that MVP has been accepted as guests to this year’s ConCarolinas convention in June. MVP will host a special screening at ConCarolinas but we’ll keep that under wraps until the full details are worked out. There’s also something really big and crazy coming to Charlotte very soon that MVP is going to be a part of but until there is an official announcement, we will just have to keep mum about it. Trust me when I say it is very cool.

Get thre rest of your Monday morning MVP fix after the leap!

Underworld Awakening tops box office with $25 million – just one million short of the Underworld Evolution opening from 2005. The Devil Inside dropped to 15th at the box office with it’s total US gross currently reaching over $51 million.

With the success of horror shows on television such as The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, and True Blood, we are going to see an influx of new horror themed shows over the coming year. We already have a steady diet of the aforementioned shows as well as Dexter, Grimm, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and many more. Currently in development are a slate of shows set to challenge for horror supremacy with titles such as Dracula, The Munsters, Hannibal, and 666 Park Avenue.

That’s your MVP and horror round up for the today. Why don’t you burn off those unwanted brain cells by watching a few selections of MUTANT TV.
