If I’m being honest with you, and I always try to be, I came away from the G.H.O.S.T. screening with my own lessons learned and frankly they were not all good ones. Rather than belly ache about things I cannot change, I’d prefer to talk about the good parts of the event.
For the first time I can remember at any convention we had both an excellent projector and really good sound. We were also on a 25 foot screen and that was “Dope” to use a former friend’s expression.
Our cast members Greg, Kathy and Jack showed up and genuinely seemed to enjoy the film. Each took part in an actors Q&A afterwards which presumably you’ll see on Mutant TV.
Being with the cast and reminiscing about the project was a lot of fun. We were able to gift them each a DVD and that felt like a cool milestone in a way! Here is a tangible record of all your hard work. Go forth and share it as you will.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t really enjoy the event to the fullest due to severe sleep deprivation from a compressed timeline building said DVD’s all week. I’d rather have hung out with the cool kids at the Charlotte Film Anarchists meetup with the rest of my partners. My headache was omni-present the whole time. Still I’m glad I was able to be there. Sorry you mutants couldn’t make it. I guess you were too busy combing your hair or watching TV or something. Just be glad I pulled up short of saying that most actors are completely self absorbed and could care less about any project one they are done shooting it. That wouldn’t have been nice of me, but a film maker who sees his and his partners sincere efforts repeatedly taken for granted just might say anything. There are a few faithful friends and artists that do support our work and those people…gosh I love you all!
In other news there have been reports of a Hulk sighting on the Mutantville Productions fan page. Either that or someone has some mad Photoshop skills. That’s a wrap SON! See ya’ll next week when hopefully I’ll have time to create a proper edition of Johnny Brento’s JuJu!
