American Horror Story has taken the television world by storm. It may not garner the ratings of The Walking Dead – but it delivers on the horror in ways that The Walking Dead cannot even imagine. Every episode of this show gets better and more horrific than the last as the secrets of Murder House are revealed one by one. The series has already been renewed for a second season – so horrorphiles can rest easy in knowing that their TV screens will be sleazed up for the next year to come. Don’t take my word for it – check out this special sneak preview for next week’s episode where the identity of the mysterious Rubber Man is hinted at.
To get you ready for the Turkey Season ahead – our good friend Mr. Parka has reviewed the trash horror classic Thankskilling for you on his Youtube channel.
“That’s right folks an ancient killer turkey comes back on you guessed it thanksgiving to kill a bunch of stereotypical kids and there kin. Very stupid and hilarious, but completely well aware with a great score. In the vein of something like “Uncle Sam”.
In the blast from the past section of Fridays with MVP – let’s take the wayback machine to the early Eighties. Next stop – the balcony with Siskel and Ebert! Despite the fact that they often lambasted horror movies – longtime MVP fans will know that Streebo modeled part of his review style on the classic Siskel and Ebert At the Movies show. In this video – Siskel and Ebert take a rare turn when they defend John Carpenter’s Halloween and hold it up as a great piece of cinema in contrast to the slasher quickie trash that was being released at the time in the wake of Friday the 13th.
