Friday the 13th part 3
Bass, snare, clap, clap, clap…Bass, snare, clap, clap, clap. That’s right it’s the theme song from Friday the 13th part 3 (also written part III). Not every horror movie has such a funky discoesque beat during the beginning credits but I think that helps you know immediately that this will be a fun time. Now when I hear that song, I think of driving up to Boone, NC with Streebo to watch a 35mm print of the movie. One of the things that is the coolest to me is the 3D. In honor of the recent Friday the 13th we’re going to feature this film this week.
Friday the 13th part III was directed by Steve Miner, who also directed Friday the 13th part 2, House, Soul Man, 9 episodes of The Wonder Years and many other television shows and movies. The screenplay was written by Martin Kitrosser and Carol Watson with character creator credits given to Victor Miller and Ron Kurz. The film stars Dana Kimmell, Paul Kratka, Tracie Savage, Jeffrey Rogers, Catherine Parks, Larry Zerner, David Katims and Jason Vorhees is played by Richard Brooker. In this edition of Friday the 13th, a group of kids are going out to the woods. I wonder what will happen to them. You see tell tell signs that some people are going to die because some of them are smoking pot. We all know that people who aren’t morally pure die in slasher films.
