Creature from the Black Lagoon and Bride of Frankenstein return to Retrofantasma, Special Edition DVDs on the Way, October Screams Are Go and More on Fridays with MVP!

The Creature From The Black Lagoon is back in 3D tonight – only at Retrofantasma!!!

Thank Muticia and the Movie Gods that it’s finally Friday! It’s been another wild and wet week here aboard the Mutantville Mothership. Come join us tonight in Durham at the Carolina Theatre for a double feature of The Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Bride of Frankenstein. Both movies are presented in 35mm and The Creature from the Black Lagoon is presented in it’s original 3D format!!! Theater time doesn’t get any better than this and the gang at Retrofantasma always put on a great show. Make sure you tell Jim that Streebo sent ya!

Meanwhile on the Mutantville Mothership, besides dealing with hackers stealing our Twitter ID, we’ve managed to put the final touches on the special edition DVDs for both G.H.O.S.T. and Tales from Mutantville and can finally close the book on post-production work for both titles. We are literally in the process of launching our online campaign to get both DVDs online for everyone to order whether it be from Amazon.com or Mutantville.com. Keep watching this space for more info as that develops.

At the beginning of the week we announced the upcoming Scarecrow at Midnight screening at the upcoming BAFS October Screams presentation at the Carolina Cinema Crownpoint in Charlotte. Be sure to join us next Thursday at 7:30pm for the show. We’ll announce a selection of door prizes and special MVP giveaways that we’ll have available next week. This will most likely be the final time that our short film plays in a live theater and forever after fans will have to be satisfied by watching the Tales from Mutantville DVD at home.

To begin a month of non-stop promotion – we unveiled the latest episode of MVP Mutant Radio where we spoke with independent filmmaker Jayson Densman about his films Party Girl (2009) and Jeremy C. Shipp’s Egg (2009). Jay shared his production stories including a cool story about how he almost signed Marilyn Burns of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame to play the lead role of Party Girl. Over the past few months, the identity of the MVP Mutant Radio show has continued to evolve and these episodes featuring the work of underground filmmakers are quickly becoming our most popular.

In non-MVP news or at least tangential MVP News – Brento finished his first day of shooting on Take That and was very pleased with the results. Brento may be working on his first official non-MVP side project but the stories of last minute changes and twenty-one hour shoot days sound very familiar to anyone that’s been on a MVP set. He’s scheduled to finish his shoot this coming weekend. Be sure to check out the official Facebook fanpage for Take That and share the link with your friends.

Be sure to check out the exclusive G.H.O.S.T. (2012) preview scene below. Remember to update your #FF Twitter recommendations to @MVPlayers as some douchebag hacker named Tyler has stolen our long running @MVP username and Twitter Support has been less than supportive in returning our identity. Ah well, what can you do? The MVP Mothership has to keep rolling along. It’s October. Pop open a Pumpkin Spiced Blue Moon, say “fuck it” and let ‘er rip. See you soon, mutants.
