Episodes 1, 2 & 3  of C For Chaos are now online! Woot! We’ve got this thing rolling. Thus far I’ve managed to stick to the every two weeks schedule.

Episode #2 was a real bare with over a dozen VFX screen replacement shots to setup, but once that one was behind me, I fell into a groove and considering that the next 3 episodes more or less take place in the same location, it’s been mostly a matter of scoring and fine tweaks.

I’ve recently realized that the neato mosquito ending animation which teases what comes in the next episode sort of painted me into a little corner. Each of those takes around 30 minutes to build and around 35 minutes to render.

Episode #3 is nearly double the length of #2 clocking in around 12:43. I’m thinking 10 minutes or so is going to wind up being the normal length, although Episode #4 is almost 12 minutes long as well.. Another options for viewing I’ve consider is creating 30 minute chunks of the series so you only have to see the opening animation once and setting that up as a separate play list once we get further along.

Taking the long view, this is a marathon and not a sprint. This work will dominate my editing cycles for the next 2 years at least. Given that I know I have a few big chunks of work coming down the shoot apart from C4Chaos, I’m endeavoring to get a few episodes ahead so that I can focus on that other work.

The first open “Letter from Andersonville,” where I just share a low production, behind the scenes glimpse has just aired for the first time as a segment on MVP Mutant Radio.

Todd and I had a nice time with Vanelle a.k.a Muticia The Movie Goddess shooting some C For Chaos related video bumpers this weekend. Forget the fact that it was CCccccold! She pulled through and we got the footage we needed. You’ll begin seeing those on the ends of the episodes starting at #4.
