If you’re headed to the Raleigh/Durham area this weekend be sure to stop by the Carolina Theatre and take in one of the great 35mm screenings that they are hosting through the weekend. It’s starts with a quest to kill a dragon and ends with a trip back in time! This weekend you can see everything from Dragonslayer to Big Trouble In Little China, Highlander, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Labyrinth, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Time After Time, Terminator 2, The Final Countdown, Masters of the Universe, Goonies, E.T., and the entire Back to the Future Trilogy! Tickets are only $8 each or you can get a ten ticket pass for the discounted price of $65. Visit the official Carolina Theatre website for more information.
If you’re headed toward Charlotte this weekend then be sure to visit the Light Factory as they screen a bevy of film greats from the year 1972 with their Spirit of ’72 celebration. It all started with a journey down the river with Deliverance last night and continues with Bruce Lee’s Way of the Dragon followed by Fritz the Cat tonight. The celebration continues through the weekend with screenings of The Getaway, What’s Up Doc?, and a little known film called The Godfather. They even have Luis Bunuel action with The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and then wrap it all up with the most disgusting movie ever made – Pink Flamingos! That’s more movie goodness than a doggie bag can handle. Visit the official Light Factory website for more information.
