I had the pleasure of seeing this in the theaters during it’s initial run and was able to
revisit it this past year when it was featured at the Carolina Theatre in Durham on several occasions. Army of Darkness features more boomstick action, deadite smashing, pillow talking traction than ten Tyler Perry movies combined. It over-delivered on the goods but underperformed at the box office and true to form MVP was there to support it. Over the years it has become considered an undeniable cult classic.
So what are you waiting for – a written invitation? Dust off your magic words and start your klaatu verata necktie. . .no that’s not right. It’s klaatu verata Scary Movie Saturday!
