Well, I’m pleased to announce a fantastic weekend of work on the new short, “Take That.” If plans don’t change at the last minute you aren’t making a budget film!
The shoot this weekend had to be shuffled around to move our day 2 plans to day 1. Then that day turned into an awesome marathon 21 hour shoot day that didn’t wind down until 5 am. To accommodate a little rest for everyone, day 2 shoot has been moved to this coming Saturday, Oct 6.
I think I can safely report that things ran very smoothly. No drama whatsoever. No one got cussed out or bitched at and in fact things were pretty laid back. Both the actors and crew seemed to really enjoy themselves and there was a truly collaborative spirit. After the minor rescheduling hiccup and getting everyone to the new location, things just ran perfectly smooth.
Steven Tucker and Morgan Monig really impressed me with some extremely good performances. The look of the set turned out very stark and noir. It took us a while to build and break down, primarily with materials already at the location, but it all just looked awesome with tons of depth, which Robert W. Filion made the most of.
Frankly, the toughest shots to get have all been accomplish and the rest of the shooting will focus on the lighter, more comedic elements of the film. I look forward to sharing this film with you all very soon.
