Indie Filmmakers – Send Your Media Releases to Mutantville.com!

Since the launch of Mutantville.com ten years ago – we have used this platform to promote not only MVP and our works – but the works of independent artists that we discover along the way. Over the past year, we’ve expanded from the blog to Twitter to Youtube and finally iTunes with our semi-weekly radio show – MVP Mutant Radio. The driving goal behind everything that MVP does is to create works of genre fiction – and quite honestly to do a better job at it than anyone else.

In a lot of ways this precludes our being able to constantly promote other independent artists outside of MVP as we are very much neck deep in the creative process. At this moment I have no less than three scripts that I’m bouncing between not to mention the countless articles that need writing here at the website and lest I forget the umpteen number of projects that are moving through the later stages of production here at Mutantville Productions. I repeat – MVP exists to tell great stories. No more, no less.

Along the way we’ve managed to interview and help promote the works of other filmmakers and for two years running, we’ve helped give nearly eighty odd filmmakers a platform to show their work at the Mad Monster Party Film Festival – absolutely free of charge. So to put it succinctly – we’ve done the best we can to help others BUT – and this is a BIG BUT – it is the onus of the filmmaker to pick up their own slack and promote their work. Don’t expect other filmmakers to do your work for you.

However – at MVP we DO want to help. Over the years, we’ve seen so many great indie works that it becomes nearly impossible not to talk about them from time to time. However, we’ve reached a point where individuals feel the need to conspire in the shadows and claim that we’re not offering fair and balanced coverage to everyone out there. Well that may in fact be true – because we are artists – NOT JOURNALISTS. Don’t get it confused. We are here to create art – not to promote your art. We do want to help but there just aren’t enough hours in any given day to work on scripts or editing and then write reviews for someone else absolutely free of charge.

Instead of rescinding all help to our fellow filmmakers – we do want to extend an invitation to you all to send us your media releases. If you do the writing – then send it to us and we will post it and help you get a few back links along the way. Send us your banners and links and we will add them to the LINKS page. We’ve been hit by hackers in the past few months – both on our Twitter account and our email – but we do the best we can.

Put MVP NEWS in the subject line so we don’t miss it and we’ll do our best to repost it all to the website for you — free of charge. At the end of the day you can pay us back by sharing the links to Mutantville.com and by liking the articles, videos and radio shows that we produce.
