Scarecrow at Midnight kicks off October Screams courtesy of Back Alley Film Series and Carolina Cinemas.

Come join the Mutantville Players and friends at the Carolina Cinemas Crownpoint Theater next Thursday October 11th at 7:30pm as Scarecrow at Midnight kicks off the October Screams series. MVP’s little scarecrow slasher flick will play before the “Secret 35mm Screening” next week as part of a month long celebration of horror. The Mutantville Players will be on hand with copies of the Tales from Mutantville DVD, t-shirts and more.

Scarecrow at Midnight was filmed at the world famous Myers House NC in the fall of 2010. It has gone on to play at festivals and conventions across the country and much to our delight it will play again in Charlotte for what is most likely the final time it will play in a theater.

Scarecrow at Midnight stars Katie Bearden as Sonia a young student who wants to have a quiet Halloween at home – giving out candy. Troublemakers Daniel and friends (played by Michael Sharpe, Coty Galloway and Angela Pritchett) decide to pay her a not so friendly visit. It all comes to a head when Sawbones (played by Matthew Ewald) comes home to kill them all. Look for cameos from Zombieland’s “Piano Lady” Joan Schuermeyer as well as Charlotte’s Number One Professional Corpse – Tommy Allen Taylor!
