Iron Sky and the Back Alley Film Series Want You!

Our good friends at the Back Alley Film Series have gone out of their way to find another new release that has been making noise in the festival circuit – Iron Sky. That’s right film freaks and geeks – Iron Sky is playing at the AMC Carolina Pavilion in Charlotte on August 30th at 7:30pm. They’re bringing the movie to Charlotte for a one night only screening and they want you to be there. Get out and support independent cinema by spending the night at the movies with the coolest collection of geeks, hipsters, movie freaks and indie filmmakers that you’ll find east of the Mississippi. Don’t take my word for it – here’s what BAFS had to say about the event!

We have partnered with the producers of the film IRON SKY and the distributor Tugg.com to help promote this one time screening of their film in Charlotte, NC on August 30th, 2012. This is not an “official” BAFS screening but we are helping them promote the film and the screening so that the film will actually screen in Charlotte. We know BAFS fans want to see it so we are trying to help. How it works is simple:

Get the full rundown after the leap!

1. You go to this website: http://www.tugg.com/events/1232#.UBg77ERwSb3

2. You reserve your tickets to the screening.

3. If 41 people commit to seeing the film before August 23rd, 2012 then the screening happens. If we cannot get 41 people to commit by that date the screening does not happen and you get your money back. You do not get charged unless the screening happens.

So put the word out on the street and lets make this screening happen.

—————————————————-

“In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers.

When American astronaut James Washington (Christopher Kirby) puts down his Lunar Lander a bit too close to the secret Nazi base, the Moon Führer (Udo Kier) decides the glorious moment of retaking the Earth has arrived sooner than expected. Washington claims the mission is just a publicity stunt for the President of the United States (Stephanie Paul), but what else could the man be but a scout for the imminent attack by Earth forces? The Fourth Reich must act!

Two Nazi officers, ruthless Klaus Adler (Götz Otto) and idealistic Renate Richter (Julia Dietze), travel to Earth to prepare the invasion. In the end when the Moon Nazi UFO armada darkens the skies, ready to strike at the unprepared Earth, every man, woman and nation alike, must re-evaluate their priorities.”
