Mad Monster Film Fest on the Horizon, Website Troubles, & More on Mutantville Mondays.

Mad Monster Party is coming your way!

Even a late Mutantville Monday qualifies as a Mutantville Monday.  It’s well before midnight and the website seems stable so I figured I had enough time to get in a quick update befor the day ends.  This is Streebo with you once again to share the joys and the woes, the highs and the lows of independent filmmaking.  We’ve been prepping for the past few months for the Mad Monster Party Film Festival with the deadline passing just last week and here we are on the verge of announcing the full lineup for the event.

It’s so close we can taste it and it tastes like a nice fat free banana cream pie.

We’ve programmed the entire film festival for the Mad Monster Party and are currently ironing out the kinks.  Please be patient as we’re just moments away from making a proper announcement.  I’d like to thank you all for not only your patience in this process but for submitting such an amazing array of films for the convention-goers to watch. It is going to be an event to remember.

Nailbiter (2011) by Patrick Rea

This will quite simply be the most entertaining indie film fest that you will find on the East Coast until next year’s Nevermore that is.  Speaking of the Carolina Theatre, I think that Jim and the folks at Retrofantasma would be very pleased with the selection of films that we’ve assembled.  We can mention a few names such as Nailbiter, Mr. Mullen, Beware, Desdemona 6, and Deviling just to whet your appetite.  When we show you the full lineup – to borrow a phrase from our buddies at Mad Ones Films – your face will indeed melt off.  There are close to forty movies playing over three non-stop days.

Not only has MVP reached the end of the road for the film festival – but we’re also nearing the end for Tales From Mutantville and G.H.O.S.T.   While that wraps up we’re prepping to shoot the first episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue – but shhh – don’t tell anyone just yet.  Last week we opened pre-orders for the amazing new Tales From Mutantville shirt and the website here at Mutantville.com promptly crashed.   At the very same time that we’re promoting not only our latest design – but a nationwide film festival  – our web hosts drop our website and break it in half.  I’ve never seen anything like it.

We seem to get the site up and running and we make it all the way to Scary Movie Saturday and the debut of the Dark Tales Chronicles and zap – the website disappears yet again.  At the very least the website could have dropped an hour sooner because then I wouldn’t have wasted my time writing an article that no one was going to get to see.

At the end of the day I just have to laugh.  If this is what it takes to be an independent filmmaker and share my stories of pain and pleasure with the world – then so be it.   Let’s do this.  Our next stop in the road is the Mad Monster Party and you’re all invited.  MVP will be on hand with makeup illusionist Todd A. Britt and even Muticia the Movie Goddess will put in an appearance on Saturday.  We’re going to share MVP’s films, but most importantly we’re going to show YOUR FILMS to Charlotte, North Carolina and we’re going to have one helluva great time while doing it.

Look for the final Film Festival schedule to show up here as soon as it’s announced.   Thank you.  We’ll see you all at the Mad Monster Party.
