If you haven’t made your movie viewing plans for the weekend, Brento recommends a taught little thriller by the name of, “Limitless.” This Bradley Cooper vehicle, directed by Neil Burger and based on the novel by Alan Glynn, begs the question, “What if a pill could make you rich and powerful? ”
In this clever tale, a novelist discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human powers of concentration. As his usage begins to change his life, he begins to consider the drug’s shadowy origins; meanwhile, a group of killers trails his every move.
I went in with lowish expectations and was pleasantly surprised by a solidly written story, great casting, good cinematography including some sweet motion graphics all topped off by some very good acting. If you’re up for a thriller with a fairly original premise, check out, “Limitless” this weekend.
