Last night the Charlotte Film Community held the awards ceremony for the Made In Charlotte film contest. Filmmakers from across the state entered the contest with the only caveat being that every film had to use the queen of spades in a meaningful way. MVP’s own Michael Sharpe (“Daniel” in Scarecrow At Midnight) appeared in several short films in the contest including Knowing and Spades. It was in the former that Michael put on a heart wrenching performance as a man who knows that his time with his family has come to an end.
Michael’s performance in Knowing won him the award for “Best Actor” in the Made in Charlotte contest. Michael Sharpe is a mutli-talented musician, actor, writer and director. He has appeared in several productions in the local film community including Split and Desdemona 6 from Last Call Pictures and many more. Michael made his debut as a writer/director this past summer with his short horror film Monomaniacal and is currently in pre-production for his next directorial effort Deviling.
