Tyler Mane and Streebo at Fright Night Film Fest ’10.

Welcome back to another slap dash edition of Mutantville Mondays, oh faithful mutants. The Mutantville Mothership has been abuzz with encounters of the fourth kind over the past month as we’ve battened down the hatches in an effort to complete the special edition DVDs for G.H.O.S.T. and Tales from Mutantville. The final audio kinks are being worked out of G.H.O.S.T. while the Tales from Mutantville menus are being ironed out as we speak. Look for special editions of both DVDs to hit the internet soon including Amazon, eBay and Mutantville.com!

Our penultimate interview video from the Fright Night Film Fest with Tyler Mane of Rob Zombie’s Halloween hit the internetz with a bloody splash today. The video would have been uploaded to Youtube sooner but the internet kept dropping out. Never fear – the tireless Mutantville Players were on the case and we managed to get the video uploaded – internet or no! We use the Matrix if we have to. Check out the vid and share it with your friends. And don’t forget to check out the complete MVP Goes to the Fright Night Film Fest 2012 video over at the MutantvillePlayers account on Youtube as it chronicles the adventures of MVP at the Fright Night Horror Weekend!

All this and more after the leap!!!

MVP first encountered Tyler Mane at the Fright Night Film Fest in 2010 when we attended Roger Corman’s lifetime acheivement award party. Tyler was very cool and personable and talked to everyone that approached him. He even took a minute to take photos with Geo and myself. Flashforward two years and MVP is back at the Georgetown Drive-in and Tyler Mane makes an appearance alongside the Lintz family and Sid Haig. Despite the heat – Tyler was very cool and chatted with the fans at the show. I shared a few observations with him about his performance as Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and he said “thanks.” It was a fun little encounter that didn’t cost a dime and created memories for a lifetime not just for myself but for the other fans in attendance.

The next day we caught up with Tyler at the convention and he was more than happy to shoot an interview with us. Check it out!

Absolute Zero reunites for a special one night only show on Muticia’s Movie Morgue.

Last week, MVP announced the Mad Monster Party Film Festival Carolina Challenge in conjunction with the Back Alley Film Series in Charlotte. We are looking for the best short films in the area to promote at the upcoming Mad Monster Party convention in March of 2013! We’re going to celebrate the entries at a special series of screenings at BAFS this October where the short films will have a chance to open before a theatrical release (to be announced very soon).

The release date for the first episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue has been pushed back to Halloween as MVP reshuffles our shooting schedules for the coming year. The first episode is nearly through post-production as we made some significant advances on the green screen work this past Sunday. If you visit the Absolute Zero fanpage on Facebook you will see a sneak peek of the graphics to be used for the green-screen sequence during a live performance of Absolute Zero.

We’ve put our plans to produce two more episodes of the Movie Morgue on hold this year as we focus on more personal story driven productions instead. So have faith, mighty mutants, Muticia is coming soon and she will be with us for a long time. Maybe one day someone with a bank account will come along and option the rights. Who knows? Anything is possible. Like my fortune said this morning, “aim for the moon and you might hit a star.”
