This week we’ll focus on Lucio Fulci’s Zombie! I’m going to go lighter on the text this week and heavier on the videos and images! Enjoy!
Another Johnny Brento’s JuJu Wednesday is upon us. THIS time I have something cool to share. It’s behind the scenes Mutantville Zombie Day inside access. Yeah!!! Sometimes, things just work out, or as old Hannibal used to say on the A-Team, I love it when a plan comes together.
I got roped into a role as second makeup artist and wound up doing 7 zombie makeups in 2 hours. Obviously it had to be mostly shading with those limitations, but I did churn out one latex creation on a featured zombie portrayed by Lisa Cobb. Being that the footage was going to be converted to black and white, I figured it would carry the impression of undead. I’m happy to report that the footage looks great. I even pulled out the camera and got some footage of the graveyard antics for you, faithful mutants!
This bit from the upcoming episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue features our movie goddess in her news reporter guise in the field during the events of NOTLD circa 1969, interviewing the ghouls as they return to from the dead.
The second featured zombie, we lovingly refer to as, “Bogman” was portrayed by our friend and by now veteran MVP Player, Jeremy Mullis. He was decked out as a zombie who’d languished in a semi open grave and had the experience of moss growing over much of his face and body.
Here in the Mutantville Cemetery, we see it in full light and it looks amazing. AMAZING! It’s almost as cool as when Burger King switched from Pepsi to Coke products. Sometimes, things just work out!
So, I’m guessing that if you are still reading this far into the article, you really really want to see the behind the scenes video promised above. Be sure to subscribe, like and comment on our video on Youtube. Remember, make your comments on MutantTV tell us what kind of programming you really want to see. So far, apparently you like Streebo’s horror chat and review type Vlogs better than the making of and behind the scenes content which I tend to focus on. That’s why I have one day of programming and he has 5. If that’s not to your liking, make your voice heard on the Youtube comments box for videos featuring content you like the most.
Without further ado, Johnny Brento’s Zombie Day JuJu 2012.
This is one of those movies where the title says it all – Zomboobies.

Welcome back to Mutantville Mondays, oh faithful mutants. The Mutantville Mothership was abuzz with activity over the weekend as we made it through day one on the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue Episode One: George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. We were able to shoot through thirteen scenes with countless setups over the course of the day on Saturday and we couldn’t be happier with the final results.
The footage looks spectacular and we’re sure that you will all enjoy what you see. The first hurdle has been cleared so we’re setting our sights on the next one. Join us again in two weeks on Sunday April 15th for Zombie Day on the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue. We’ll be putting an undead horde of zombies to work on the set that day so make sure you don’t miss it.
Thank you all for making this weekend’s shoot so special. It was one of the smoothest and most fun shoots we’ve had at the Mutantville Productions Studios in ages. Enjoy your rest this week and spend some quality time with your family.
We’ll see you all in two weeks for Zombie Day! Spread the word. Join the fun. Keep it MVP.
Welcome back to another cold sleet covered edition of Mutantville Mondays. The Mutantville Players have returned from a long weekend in Durham, NC where we attended the thirteenth annual Nevermore Film Festival over the weekend. Nevermore always offers us a chance to recharge our creative batteries by taking in new movies as well as the classics in addition to supporting our fellow filmmakers as they share their works with the public.
MVP would like to send out a big round of congratz to our friends Robert W. Filion, Jeremy Bonham, Christopher G. Moore, Robert Haulbrook, and Lee Miller who all had movies play at the festival. Congratulations on the fine reception you received and keep up the good work. The gentlemen hosted their films Dummy, Flush With Fear and Deviling respectively.
Durham, NC, the time is upon us! Get out your seat cushion, load up on a pack of tums and turn off your iphone! This weekend, the Carolina Theatre in Durham will unleash a three day phantasmagoria of genre film during their thirteenth annual Nevermore Film Festival that is guaranteed to astound, shock and amaze you.
MVP attends the Nevermore Film Festival year after year in the hopes of discovering new hidden gems such as Bubba Ho-Tep, Rubber and The Black Death to name a few. Jim Carl, the senior director, and his committee never cease to amaze with their prescient selection of genre films. The festival always pleases those hoping to discover a new voice in the genre as well as those looking to enjoy the great films of the past. The diverse lineup at Nevermore – dare I say – never disappoints and this year’s selection looks to be no different.
Get the rest after the leap!
Mutantville Productions would like to take a moment of silence to honor the passing of Bill Hinzman the man famous for portraying the first zombie seen in George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. MVP would like to send our sincere condolences to Hinzman’s friends and family.

The number one drama on television – The Walking Dead – has hit it’s mid-season point for it’s sophomore season. The Walking Dead mid-season finale aired this past weekend and has left everyone on the edge of their seat as some questions were answered, some guts were munched and some new questions sprung up to take their place.
What will happen between Ric, Shane and Lori? Will the survivors leave the farm? Will Merle come back for revenge?
There are so many possibilities and we all have to wait! The Walking Dead will be on hiatus until February 2012! While you’re waiting – join Streebo for a discussion on the progress of the season so far. This week we’re talking The Walking Dead on Streeborama.
(Get in on some Streeborama action after the leap!)
