Legends II, Athena and Retrofantasma Returns on Fridays with MVP!

Matthew Ewald and Bones McCoy on the set of Robert W. Filion's Athena.

Welcome back to another wild and whooly edition of Fridays with MVP, oh my faithful mutants.  It’s been a crazy month for MVP so far as the Mutantville Players have been deep in the trenches of post-production working on final post for G.H.O.S.T. to get ready for our upcoming private cast and crew screening on October 30th.  The footage looks great, the sound is coming along and we’ve just cut a deal with the great Martin Bowes of Attrition to compose the final score for our little supernatural thriller.

We’re super busy this month so there’s little time for updates.  We’re going to leave you with a few videos and pics to give you an idea of what’s happening in the world of horror here in North Carolina and beyond while we get back making movie magic – or is that MAJIC!  Party on.  Make something great.  Do the impossible.  It’s all within your grasp.  This public service announcement has been brought to you by Streebo.

Streeborama and Other Random Acts of Mutantville.

Welcome back to another edition of Streeborama here on Mutantville.com. I’m still drowning in an endless stream of editing in a race to get the final cut of G.H.O.S.T. locked in so the visual FX and score can be completed – so I had to shoot another v-log to serve as my blog entry. I shot that so I wouldn’t have to type too much – so why don’t you go check it out now.

Mutantville Productions releases first official trailer for “G.H.O.S.T.”

There have been rumblings about an official trailer for MVP’s supernatural thriller coming from the Mutantville offices for the past month.  Fans on Facebook have been privvy to constant updates about work on a “trailer” for weeks on end with little else being offered in the way of explanation.  This morning – a video marked “G.H.O.S.T. trailer” has appeared on the Mutantville Players Youtube channel and the internet seems all abuzz about this sneak peek at the latest full length feature from the MVP team.

No official word yet on a release date as writer director J.T.”Streebo” McRoberts states that “there are still a lot of visual FX and music to be done – but we’re making progress every day.  The performances we captured were amazing and we’ve put every little horror movie trick we could think of in the movie.  In the end – it will be worth the wait.”

G.H.O.S.T. stars Kathy Butler Sandvoss, Clint Jones, Dave Tunik, Jack Stecher, Scott Thomas, Jason Wheeley, Kayli Tolleson and Matthew Ewald.  Check out the offical trailer at the link below:

Script For G.H.O.S.T. Is All But Finished!

We’ve had another busy weekend at the offices of Mutantville.com this past week. Since we finished the first cut of G.H.O.S.T. at the beginning of January – we’ve been working feverishly to complete the script for new scenes and contact all of our principle players about the possibility of returning to shoot more scenes. We are happy to announce that the entire cast has agreed to return to shoot new scenes. We’ve been lining up locations, working out new ideas and continuing with the post-production process on the visual FX of G.H.O.S.T.

Writer/director J.T. McRoberts has been working hard on the script for the new scenes and will soon send it out to the actors. He states that while the new script is all but finished – there are still one or two lines of dialogue that would – as Mark Borchardt might say -“make the pope weep” so he’s trying to iron those rough spots out first. McRoberts states “I always want my scripts to knock your you-know-what in the dirt – so there’s never a rush even when we’re pressed for time.  I promise this is the final revision.  It’s go time.  We’re eager to get everyone back in front of the camera.”

Be on the look out for another edition of On The Red Carpet with Catherine Trail and Charlotte Web Video. Mutantville’s own Streebo , Geo Swanko and actor Jack Stecher were on hand to talk to Catherine about the progress of G.H.O.S.T. and the upcoming projects at Mutantville.com.  Look for the video to be posted soon courtesy of Charlotte Web Video.

Big things lay ahead for Mutantville in the coming month. The first official G.H.O.S.T. t-shirt will soon be made available to the cast and crew.  More details on that soon.  Be sure to keep checking back as we update you on the progress of ABOMINATIONS from Image Impact Group and take you to see limited screenings of The Howling.  Be with us as we howl for the premiere of The Wolfman and come along for the ride as we give you a guided tour of the upcoming Horrorhound convention in Indianapolis featuring the screening of NIGHTBREED uncut!

Phew! All this and 2010 is just barely getting started.

MVP To Review First Cut of G.H.O.S.T. Tonight.

The energy is high on the Mutantville Mothership as the producers of MVP meet tonight to review the first assembly of G.H.O.S.T..  G.H.O.S.T. was originally proposed as a five minute short for the Chiller Dare to Direct contest – but was expanded in a longer 30 minute short film.  The first cut of G.H.O.S.T. came in at a unexpected 47 minutes.  Everyone is so pleased with what we have so far – that we are excited about the possibility of expanding G.H.O.S.T. into a full length feature with an approximate run time of 70 minutes.  Tonight we will discuss what works or doesn’t work in the first cut as well as going over the visual FX needed and possible approaches to the score.  We will also have our final discussion on the new scenes to be filmed to lengthen the movie before locking them into a new version of the script.  What a long strange trip it’s been – and we’re only getting started!
