“Total Skull” Promo Goes Live for Sheri Moon Zombie’s Clothing Line!

Rob Zombie fans check it out!  The first official promo for Sheri Moon Zombie’s “Total Skull” clothing line has gone live.  We know you all know and love Rob Zombie and Sheri Moon Zombie – but this video is extra cool to the Mutantville Players because it was written by our good friend Kenny Caperton of the Myers House NC and was directed by Josh Hasty director of A Mannequin in Static and the Halloween tribute film Judith: The Night She Stayed Home!   The video stars that uber cutie Ana Gilmore (Judith and A Mannequin in Static) and features a ton of fun references to Rob Zombie’s movies.

So what are you waiting for?  Live it. Love it.  Rock it!

Tomb of Dracula & Gene Colan stake a claim on Collector’s Corner!

This week on Collector’s Corner, we continue to honor the memory of recently departed master artist – Gene “The Dean” Colan.  We’re taking a look at Gene’s classic work on the greatest horror comic of the Seventies – Tomb of Dracula.  Gene contributed all of the the art to the Tomb of Dracula series while Marv Wolfman contributed the scripts starting with the seventh issue in 1972 all the way to it’s end in 1979.

Gene recalled “when I heard Marvel was putting out a Dracula book, I confronted [editor] Stan [Lee] about it and asked him to let me do it. He didn’t give me too much trouble but, as it turned out, he took that promise away, saying he had promised it to Bill Everett. Well, right then and there I auditioned for it. Stan didn’t know what I was up to, but I spent a day at home and worked up a sample, using Jack Palance as my inspiration and sent it to Stan. I got a call that very day: “It’s yours.”

Colan and Wolfman were responsible for the creation of the character of Blade who would later serve as the basis for the Blade movies starring Wesley Snipes.  Gene’s work on Tomb of Dracula was moody, atmospheric and horrifying.  It stands today as a high water mark of both horror and comics in general.

True Blood, Transformers 3, & My Name Is Paul celebrate the Fourth of July on Mutantville Monday!

Happy Independence Day, my fellow Mutants!  It’s been a hot weekend aboard the Mutantville Mothership as we’ve fired up the grill, threw on some steaks, and shot off some fireworks to celebrate the very awesomeness of the United States.  We have a really big announcement coming for the Mutantville Players very soon but until then we’ll have to leave you guessing.

Fret not – for we have some cinema magic to sooth your soul.  This July Fourth pop in that seminal shark classic that made everyone afraid to go into the water – Steven Spielberg’s JAWS!  It’s the premiere summer holiday movie about a small town sheriff who tries to keep the populace under control as a great white shark intends to use the vacationers of Amity as his personal Fourth of July buffet!

You can see the whole movie right here:

Tribute to Clive Barker's Jericho on XBOX 360.

Check out this great video featuring the amazing, surreal and sadomasochistic visual stylings from Clive Barker’s video game masterpiece -  JERICHO.  The video is in German – so you’re safe from too many spoilers – unless you speak German that is.
