“Well, killing a man isn’t clean and quick and simple. It’s bloody and awful. And maybe if enough people come to realize that shooting somebody isn’t just fun and games, maybe we’ll get somewhere.” ~~Sam Peckinpah
The remake of Sam Peckinpah’s 1971 classic Straw Dogs hits theaters nationwide this Friday.
Today we’re featuring a movie so cool that we had to bust out another round of the Trailer Park for Thursday! It’s the Korean monster movie Sector 7 coming this week to theaters across the U.S. I just discovered the trailer to this movie so I don’t have much I can tell you other than it looks really cool.
When I was a young lad, I never watched horror movies. Looking back I had seen some horror movies, I just wasn’t aware they were horror movies and no I’m not talking about that Britney Spears movie Crossroads (not to be confused with the movie with Ralph Machio and Steve Vai). This weekend, cheesy guy-in-a-rubber-suit monster movies make a return to theaters with the national release of Creature! Creature is written and directed by Fred Andrews and tells the story of a group of friends in the back country of Louisiana who discover a terrible secret that releases a terrifying monster into the swamps. Creature stars genre legend Sid Haig alongside newcomers Amanda Fuller and Lauren Schneider.
It’s Saturday!!! On Mutantville.com that means one thing – it’s time for Scary Movie Saturday. That means today’s the day that we find one great scary flick for you to watch this weekend and post it right here on the website! Since the found footage Space Gothic flick Apollo 18 opened at theaters across the country today AND John Carpenter’s The Ward hit DVD and Blu Ray, we thought we would honor the occasion(s) by playing The Thing From Another World.
This weekend sees not one – but two new horror films hitting theaters across the country. Shark Night 3D will attack the box office this weekend and attempt to take home that coveted number one spot that has eluded horror flicks for the past month – by using the tried and true method of tacking on extra charges for the 3D gimmick.
Will it work or will audiences say that they’ve had a belly full of 3D already and pass on sampling Shark Night 3D? Only time will tell. Check out the trailer below.
“You can’t run from evil when it lives next door.”
The remake of Fright Night hits theaters this weekend. Yes, yes, I know that it probably won’t be as good as the classic Fright Night directed by Tom Holland but it has a terrific cast lead by Colin Farrell and David Tennant so I’m willing to give it a shot.
Horror heads back to the the mainstream this weekend as Final Destination 5 opens in the theaters across the nation. Get yourself ready for the show by checking out the trailer below!
