Resident Evil Retribution is back to stink up theaters in 2012!
The latest teaser trailer for Resident Evil Retribution has hit the web. If you’re a fan of this series which Streebo is not – then you’ll dig it. If you think it’s a steaming pile of dog crap then why not go watch The Wicker Tree trailer instead?
Tis the season…for BLOOD and Christmas! Ok, more Christmas and not so much blood. This week we move into the Christmas season and so we’ll focus Silent Night Deadly Night.
Silent Night Deadly Night was directed by Charles E. Seller Jr. and released in 1984. It stars Lilyan Chauvin, Gilmer McCormick, Toni Nero, Robert Brian Wilson, H.E.D. Redford and of course, Linnea Quigley. It’s about a teenager that is tormented (as opposed to a normal teenager) that dresses as Santa and kills people.
In the 80s, Silent Night Deadly Night was very controversial because of the Santa Claus clad killer. The PTA fought to remove this film from theaters because of this. I guess they didn’t want kids thinking of children to be scared of Santa not to mention some people may not think of Christmas as the horror movie season. The film created serious controversy. The commercial with an axe wielding Santa was protested then removed after a week. Siskel and Ebert did not care for it and bashed it on their show (which I found the video of…Check below). Apparently it offended a lot of people.

In honor of The Immortals coming out in theaters across the nation, this week we thought we would go old school with a quote from the great poet Homer. What better to get you through the day than some wisdom of the ages?
“Light is the task where many share the toil.”

Paranormal Activity 3 broke records at the box office this weekend. Streebo made the trip to the theaters to review the film for you and has returned with everything you need to know about the latest installment of the scariest series of the New Millennium.

Two years ago, the SAW franchise had been dominating the Halloween season for six years and SAW VI was due to hit theaters in one week. Paranormal Activity was a little known haunted house movie – but was talked about in horror circles for the six months leading up to it’s release. Streebo was there on opening weekend, when Paranormal Activity was playing for one weekend only in select cities across the country. Fans were encouraged to vote online to expand the theatrical release and that was exactly what happened. MVP was there leading the way as horror turned the corner from torture to hauntings.

Listen up you primitive screwheads, this is Scary Movie Saturday! This week, we’re featuring the Sam Raimi helmed, Bruce Campbell starring, legendary third installment of the Evil Dead series – Army of Darkness!
Unless you’ve been in a cave for the past few years, you’ve probably noticed there have been a few remakes of famous movies from the past (and coming soon a remake of Spiderman from like 10 years ago! ugh!). To me this is getting more and more annoying. I understand people have always made remakes of films, songs, art, etc… but when is enough enough? I could go on a whole yellfest about the Spiderman thing alone. I mean why remake a movie that is only 10 years old? What is the future of this trend? Will they remake any movie that made money? So we can expect remakes or re-imaginings of movies like: The Titantic, Gone With The Wind, Jaws(really surprises me no one has remade this one yet), Sparticus, Planet of the Apes…ok, that last one is a joke. Maybe they should just remake movies the next year if it did well.
Any way today I was looking around online and noticed that there is a re-release of Lucio Fulci’s Zombie this October in theaters nationwide (and Canada for all of our friends to the north, eh). This I like. Instead of someone making a new version…they are showing the original movie.
