Wrap Up Your Halloween With Horror Movie Trailers!

"They're heeeeerre."

This will be a short post because it’s Halloween tonight and there are children with bags of candy that are not quite full! If you’ve been keeping up with the blog you’ll know that Mutantville has been a busy place this October(as usual). We’ve been helping on the set of Athena which is a film by Robert Filion. We also been working on G.H.O.S.T. to finish it up for the big cast and crew screening this past Sunday. I must say we had a great turn out and lots of fun.

With all of this work, I really haven’t watched many horror films this year. Pity eh? Just in case you were busy and didn’t get to see many horror films this year, I’m posting lots of classic horror film trailers below for you to watch and make you feel like you’ve seen more movies than you have.

Check out which films made the cut after the leap…

MVP casts Mutica, True Blood premieres, & F.E.A.R. 3 kills fans on Mutantville Monday!

Welcome back to Mutantville Monday, faithful mutants!  It’s time to get your week started with a round up of news and gossip from the past week.

FROM THE MUTANTVILLE MOTHERSHIP!!!

In Mutantville news, the long search for Muticia is over as Mutantville Productions signs local actress Vanelle to bring “Muticia the Movie Goddess” to life.  Production on the new scenes for Tales from Mutantville is expected to begin in the coming week.  Check out the official announcement on Vanelle’s casting by clicking here and then find out all you need to know about her by checking out her official IMBb page.

MASTER ARTIST PASSES AWAY.

Word spread quickly across the internet last Thursday as legendary artist “Genial” Gene Colan passed away.  Gene was well known for his work in comics over the past several decades working on everything from Dr. Strange to Tomb of Dracula to Rob Zombie’s Spookshow International!  He had long been suffering from cancer and several other health concerns and was under the care of Hospice at the time of his passing.  Gene was a fighter until the end with plans to leave Hospice and return home.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gene’s family in their time of need.  Mutantville Productions honored the passing of this amazing storyteller by featuring an adaptation of his Tomb of Dracula on Scary Movie Saturday.  Check it out by clicking here.

We’ll release an official announcement very soon – but in the meantime be very happy. This is going to be an historic event and one people will remember for a long time to come. MVP is honored to be a part of it.

MVP would like to give a quick shout out of congratulations to our friends at Sharpe Edge Films and Last Call Pictures as they both have films that have been accepted to the upcoming Fright Night Film Fest in Kentucky. That’s right – Monomaniacal and Desdemona 6 will play at the show and the guest of honor is none other than the Master of Horror himself – John Carpenter! Congratulations, guys!

Brinke Stevens, John Carpenter, ConCarolinas & Fright Night in MVP Sights!

This is Streebo, your resident Doctor of Horror, and I’m back with another Mutantville Monday update!

Join us at ConCarolinas on June 3rd at 7pm for a special screening of Respawner the Web Series Pilot episode.  Come out and show your support for fantasy, science fiction and horror with MVP.  Special guests at ConCarolinas include MVP, Ghost Trek and Brinke StevensBRINKE STEVENS!!!  If that doesn’t make your toes curl then you’re no friend of mine!

Looking for news on G.H.O.S.T. – then check out the latest post-production v-log:

And here’s out latest update from over the weekend as we prepared the underscore for Scarecrow At Midnight in the hopes to have the final score ready for viewing at ConCarolinas.  Scarecrow At Midnight will be screened as part of the film festival that weekend along with Michael Sharpe’s Monomaniacal and other fantastic entries.

In the world of horror, fans are gearing up for the new release from John Carpenter – The Ward – which hits theaters on July 8th! MVP is planning a trip to Kentucky for this year’s awesome Fright Night Film Festival with none other than the Master of Horror himself – John Carpenter. Be sure to check out our multi-part interview with Ken Daniels – promoter of Fright Night Film Fest and Fandom Fest:

True Blood season 4 is about to start this summer.  Teaser vids have been hitting the internetz every week.

The truly bad ass Mortal Kombat Legacy vids are continuing to bloody the Internet.  Be sure to check them out.

The sleeper supernatural thriller from James Wan – Insidious – is about to hit it’s DVD release date on July 12.  The movie itself is still playing in some theaters.  If you haven’t seen it yet – get out and watch what has been to this point the best horror release of 2011.

Rob Zombie is currently shooting his latest horror flick – Lords of Salem.  Reports from the set say that it is very FX heavy.  I’m glad to see Zombie going back to original works now so his work won’t be subjected to such idiotic scrutiny prior to it’s release as happened with his Halloween films.  I still blame that idiot at AICN “Quint” for starting that snowball rolling with his moronic review of Zombie’s Halloween script.  Yes, this is what’s called carrying a grudge.  I keep bringing that crap up four years later.  It was in effect the Gulf of Tonkin incident for Horror Fandom at which point the entire community’s head disappeared up it’s own ass.  See my review “Rob Zombie’s Halloween is  a Kick Ass Remake” for my thoughts on that frustrating time period in horror.

Rob Zombie Talks Lords of Salem

Rob Zombie is in Britain for his first UK tour since the 1990s. Empire was at the awesome Manchester gig (it was, as the man himself says “a lovely party”!) so we thought we’d be remiss not to see what we could find out about Zombie’s upcoming horror opus The Lords of Salem.

Shooting starts, if all goes to plan, on April 18th, as soon as he gets home from the tour. He’ll then go back out on the rock festival circuit for the summer, edit in the autumn, and expects a release in early 2012.
