Charlotte Film Anarchists plan first meeting in May and more on Mutantville Mondays.

The Charlotte Film Anarchists will hold first meeting in May.

Welcome back to another weird and wild Monday on the Mutantville Mothership. It should go without saying by now that it’s been a busy weekend for the Mutantville Players. Post-production has been ongoing for several projects including G.H.O.S.T. and Tales From Mutantville and we are set to shoot the final scene for Muticia’s Movie Morgue tonight! Tonight’s shoot will be interesting as it features a live musical performance from Absolute Zero with band members Brent Bowers, Todd A. Britt and Jeremy Mullis. The biggest event of the weekend was the sudden announcement and subsequent launch of the filmmaking mastermind group the Charlotte Film Anarchists.

The Charlotte Film Anarchists is a group founded by Ghost Trek creator Michael Plumides and MVP co-founder J.T.McRoberts. The goal of the group is to provide Charlotte area filmmakers a chance to come together for a mastermind group once a month and talk to like minded individuals in the NC film industry. The Charlotte Film Anarchists is in no way meant to replace the existing group Charlotte Film Community – but rather to supplement it by giving actors and filmmakers that want to be more proactive a chance to meet and talk with others that have the same goals in mind.

What sets this group apart is the fact that there are no membership dues and no meetup fees. We are all struggling filmmakers that have to put so much of our own individual resources into our productions that at the end of the day it doesn’t always work out where we can scrounge up additional fees so we can simply meet and talk with our fellow filmmakers. Kill The Music author and Ghost Trek creator Michael Plumides started the ball rolling by finding a venue that would allow us to meet once a month to do our best to create positive proactive filmmaking partnerships.

Planet Hulk smashes Scary Movie Saturday.

Planet Hulk (2010)

This month at Mutantville – we’re all about some Joss Whedon. We’re so in love with The Cabin In The Woods that we can’t wait to get back to the theater to see it AGAIN. Avengers hits the screens next week and our friends from across the pond have been raving about it for weeks. Joss Whedon wrote the script for Cabin In the Woods and directed The Avengers. The Avengers features the incredible Hulk – thus leading us to our entry for today’s episode of Scary Movie Saturday – Planet Hulk.

Check it out. When you finish head back to the theater and buy two more tickets to see The Cabin In The Woods. MVP will be right across the aisles from you. It’s Joss Whedon appreciation day with a movie only marginally connected to the man – Planet Hulk – and it’s right here on Scary Movie Saturday.

MVP Mutant Radio a go go goes Streeborama!

MVP Mutant Radio is now on iTunes and Streeborama.

This week saw not only the launch of MVP Mutant Radio – but the launch of MVP Mutant Radio on iTunes. The Mutantville Players had the chance to get together to record not only one but two episodes of the new radio show. In order to get accepted to iTunes we had to have a minimum of five episodes in our RSS feed so that meant uploading some MVP Mutant Radio shows from the archives.

We dug deep into the MVP Vault and dug up our best pre-MVP Mutant Radio episodes from the various formats of MVP Player’s Club, Mutant TV and more. We unearthed our discussion on the Nightbreed Director’s Cut Uncut version seen at HHW 2010 as well as our New Year’s Eve 2011 live performance, an interview with promoter Ken Daniels of the Fright Night Film Fest and even a solo episode called “Murder By Music.” Needless to say, all of this great exclusive content got MVP Mutant Radio started off with a big bang. MVP Mutant Radio finds Frequency, Sawbones finds new blood and Cabin In The Woods stays strong on Mutantville Mondays.

MVP Mutant Radio is coming to iTunes soon!

Welcome back to another edition of Mutantville Mondays here on Mutantville.com!  We had another busy weekend on the decks of the MVP Mothership as we recorded the inaugural episode of MVP Mutant Radio, held our semi-annual MVP meeting, and continued working on various productions including G.H.O.S.T., Tales from Mutantville, and Muticia’s Movie Morgue.  If there were a way to get twenty-seven hours out of each day, something tells me even that would not be enough to do all of the things that need doing.  Idle hands are the devil’s playthings so we do our best to stay on the right side of the tracks by making the best genre entertainment you’ll find in the Carolinas.

Welcome back to the Mutantville Mothership for another edition of Fridays with MVP! It’s been another busy week here on Mutantville.com as we’ve been pulling footage from the recent Muticia’s Movie Morgue “Zombie Day” shoot from last week – and there’s a brand new MP3 on my desktop which contains the final version of the score for G.H.O.S.T. by Martin Bowes of Attrition. This weekend, the first installment of Tales from Mutantville – our little neo-slasher lovingly titled – Scarecrow At Midnight – will play during the Blood On The Beach Film Festival in Virginia.
