The Carolina Theatre is Kickstarting an Historic Campaign.
Welcome to another edition of Fridays With MVP! This is your humble host and narrator Streebo back with you once again. I’m going to start this edition out a bit differently as I am going to shift the focus over to the Carolina Theatre and their ongoing Kickstarter campaign.
They are raising funds to create an historic exhibit inside the Carolina Theatre. I cannot say this enough that if you are a filmmaker anywhere in the United States that you want your movie to play at the Carolina Theatre. Help recognize it’s rich history by helping them now.
From Meredith Vey’s latest update:
“Thank you Backers – we are more than halfway there to our goal of $13,000 by January 20th to support the Historic Exhibit at the Carolina Theatre of Durham!
For today – 9 days left – we are asking all 72 of our campaign backers to post the Historic Exhibit link to your facebook status. That way you can tell your friends, your friends can tell their friends, their friends can tell their friends and on and on!”
Happy Friday from the Mutants at MVP!!! We’re still in work cruising speed as we put the absolute last final touches of work on the Tales From Mutantville project which includes DVD, poster and shirt designs. The Mothership is abuzz with activity and excitement
as we near the end of the road for both G.H.O.S.T. and Tales From Mutantville and look ahead at the projects to come such as the first installment of Muticia’s Movie Morgue!
MVP is very honored to have the amazing musician and artist Martin Bowes of Attrition composing an all new original score for our first full length feature G.H.O.S.T. Martin mentioned his work in his most recent newsletter.
Martin has been working with his wife Kerri on the soundtrack score to the upcoming horror film G.H.O.S.T.from US based Mutantville Productions…
There are a number of ATTRITION songs featured on the upcoming horror/thriller: Breakdown Reward : from UK/Greece based Dark Rose films…
expect both of these films in the spring…. more details as soon as we have them…
That’s about all for now. Keep your head up, keep believing and keep doing what you enjoy. Life is too short to spend it fighting with trolls on the internet. We’ll be back soon with more movie info, filmmaking tips and mutant hijinks. Until then remember Streebo loves you. Continue Reading…
Welcome back to another edition of Fridays With MVP! Last Friday night the Mutantville Mothership played host to The Night The Mutants Stole Christmas when MVP screened the completed Tales From Mutantville to a raucous Christmas crowd. Although the Muticia linking segments have yet to be finalized the anthology came across quite well.
There was plenty of cheer, snacks and movies to go around. We started the show with a screening of the classic Christmas episode of Tales From The Crypt entitled “All Through The House.” After that, we plowed through a few classic trailers such as Jack Frost 2, Silent Night Deadly Night 2 and Cheerleader Camp Massacre. Next, everyone was treated to the first private screenings of Indigo Child and Family Fiend as well as enjoying the festival seasoned Scarecrow At Midnight. We rounded out an evening of holiday cheer by watching a classic Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs hosting Joe Dante’s 80′s classic Gremlins.
Thank you to everyone for coming out to join us. It was great to see you all and share our work with you. Thank you to all of the Mutantville Players out there that have made our projects possible over the years. We wouldn’t have made it this far without you and for that we shall be forever grateful.
Thank you all for being part of a great 2011 – and here’s to an even more amazing 2012. We hope to see you all there!
We’re all recovering from our holiday festivities here on the Mutantville Mothership so we thought we would keep things in the holiday spirit by featuring the work of one of our fellow North Carolinian filmmakers Christopher G. Moore. We first met Christopher at ConCarolinas in 2010 where his movie Bursters played alongside Devil Comes Down. Needless to say we were very impressed with the quality of Christopher’s work as well as the dark humor that was present in his movie.
MVP would encounter Christopher again when Scarecrow At Midnight played alongside Bursters at the Nevermore Film Festival earlier this year. Since then, Christopher has gone on to make more shorts including the Lovecraftian black comedy Flush With Fearwhich went on to win “Best Horror Short” at the NYC International Film Festival. Christopher is currently involved in post-production on his latest work – Foodie.
Come join the Mutantvilel Players for "The Night The Mutants Stole Christmas" - tonight at 7pm!
Happy Holiday Hacking to all you little Mutants out there! Tis the season for giving so why not stab someone with a candy cane this weekend? Or better yet – come join MVP for a holiday night at the movies aboard the Mutantville Mothership.
For one night only MVP is extending an invitation to everyone that wants to see the entire Tales From Mutantville anthology before it’s official release.Tonight at 7pm we will screen Indigo Child, Family Fiend and Scarecrow At Midnight with all of the Muticia introductions in between. Afterward we will screen a classic Christmas edition of Monstervision as Joe Bob Briggs hosts Joe Dante’s Gremlins.
Come join us for what is sure to be a memorable evening of monsters, madness and mayhem with the Mutantville Players. Whether or not you can come to the show we wish you all a safe and happy holiday.

Welcome back to another Mutantville Monday here at Mutantville.com. We had another busy weekend aboard the Mutantville Mothership as we sat down Saturday to record the commentary tracks for the Tales From Mutantville anthology. We sent off a working print of Indigo Child for submission to the 14th Annual Nevermore Film Festival in February.
Composer Martin Bowes of Attrition is still hard at work on the original score for G.H.O.S.T. We’re doing our best to keep ourselves busy on various projects in MVP Land such as completing several interviews we have on hand as well as working up exciting new scripts for future MVP projects. There’s too much to go into detail now so we’re going to leave you with a few videos from the world of horror but before we go – check out this nice write up on Scarecrow At Midnight from the fine folks at Horror Society.
It’s another Monday morning and the mad scientists are hard at work in the labs of Muantville. Everything is being done to get Indigo Child, Family Fiend and G.H.O.S.T. ready for the upcoming Nevermore Film Festival submission deadline. Brento has been doing reshoots for the new intro credits to Indigo Child while composer Martin Bowes is hard at work on the original score for G.H.O.S.T. The Mothership is a hub of activity so we’re going to have to send you on your way with a healthy dose of Mutant TV.
This week we have the preview for the return of The Walking Dead, a glimpse of the special guest on American Horror Story as well as several trailers for upcoming projects from around the globe. Find it all after the leap! Continue Reading…

It’s time for another Monday morning Mutantville Player roll call! Streebo! Geo! Brento! Toddo! No wait that’s not right. I think he’s Mega-Todd or Dr.Savini or something like that but it breaks the name-plus-o convention that we have going. Anyway – we’re all here and accounted for after another long hard weekend making the best in genre entertainment that the Planet Earth has to offer.
When I hold up my Majic Spyglass I can see all the Mutants sitting at home with us. I see Kathy and Catherine. Jason and Dave. There’s Super-K and Angela. Oh – I see Kayli and Meghan and Janice and Ruff. Hey – there’s Kat and Matthew and I even see you! Looks like we’re all accounted for.
Now let’s strap in and put our bits in place because the Mutantville Mothership is about to blast off. We’re headed for the five oblong corners of the Internet and there’s no coming back. Since it’s easy to get lost along the way – here’s your Mutantville Signal Watch with built in Quantum Compass to help you no matter which plane of existence that you find yourself currently residing. Here. We. GO!!!
