Welcome back to another edition of Mutantville Mondays here on Mutantville.com! It’s been a wild and wooly 2012 for MVP so far as we’ve been everywhere from the Nevermore Film Festival to the Mad Monster Party and have been working on building the final DVDs for not one – but two MVP projects G.H.O.S.T. and Tales From Mutantville – in addition to prepping for the Metatron Files webseries and shooting the first episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue. Whew. Did you get all of that? Well don’t worry – we’ll continue to remind you each day.

Happy Friday the 13th from the Mutantville Players on Fridays with MVP.

Muticia's Movie Morgue is coming soon.

Happy Friday the 13th, Mutants! The weekend is upon us! It’s time to get out that Friday the 13th DVD and Blu ray collection and celebrate the day with a selection of greatest slasher hits. Cabin In The Woods hits theaters today and the Mutantville Players are headed back to the Evans City Cemetery this Sunday for another day on the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue!

There’s so much going on that there’s little time to discuss. We’ve given you some cool content this week from Geo’s discussion on film lingo to Brento’s comparison of Horrorhound and Fangoria to Streebo’s Top Ten Horror Reference Books and we even gave you a nice little blooper reel from the set of the Movie Morgue. Look for Family Fiend, Indigo Child and Respawner to finally hit IMDb this week in the wake of the Tales From Mutantville premiere at Mad Monster Party! No other indie film company gives you the content and value that you find at Mutantville. We’re not called MVP for nothing.

There’s last minute prep to be done so we’re going to have to leave you with a selection of Mutant TV and a smile. Happy Friday the 13th! Keep your friends close and your machete closer!

Muticia meets Night of the Living Dead in one week, Retro offers Science fiction double feature and more on Fridays with MVP!

Muticia the Movie Goddess and Mutie are ready to watch some movies in 2012!

Get ready for a Good Friday throwdown with MVP! Welcome back mighty Mutants! It’s time for your end of the week update here at Mutantville.com. We’ve had quite a wild ride since the beginning of the year as we’ve been prepping for as well as promoting everything from the Nevermore Film Festival to the Mad Monster Party to Muticia’s Movie Morgue. We’re catching our breath for a moment before we start the mad rush to our last big convention appearances of the year including Charlotte’s own ConCarolinas and the big Lousiville slugger of a convention – the Fright Night Film Fest and Fandom Fest! By catching our breath that means we’re taking a break from promoting to focus on actual filmmaking.

Last weekend we shot 75% of the first episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue. We knew going into it with a cast comprised of Vanelle, England Simpson, Patrick Simpson, Mutie the Mutantville Mutant and Todd A. Britt that we were in good hands. Well – maybe putting Todd in front of the camera was a big gamble – but in the end it paid off. He managed to bring his role as the ornery makeup FX artist to believable life. I guess all those years as an ornery makeup FX artist on MVP sets really paid off. Who knew it was method training all along?

The cast and crew of Muticia's Movie Morgue.

Our cast put on a stellar performance backed by a strong and dedicated crew and we managed to put some really fantastic footage in the can. We have but a handful of minor scenes left to shoot before Muticia’s Movie Morgue episode one is ready – starting with a massive shoot next Sunday April 15th as MVP and Muticia’s Movie Morgue unleash ZOMBIE DAY on the unsuspecting masses. We’re meeting in Albemarle again to shoot a really cool skit for the show that features Muticia as a news reporter reporting from the site of the initial zombie outbreak in George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. Grab your kids, drag your wife along and wheel grandma on down to the Mutantville Productions Studios and get lathered in grey greasepaint so you can all spend the day staggering around a cemetery. It’s going to be a wacky day and we need all the zombies we can get so come out and let your inner ghoul out for the day!

Robert W. Filion’s Athena teaser explodes on Trailer Park Thursday!

Robert W. Filon's Athena (2013) starring Matthew Ewald.

Hot off it’s festival premiere at the Mad Monster Party Film Festival in Charlotte, NC, the teaser trailer for Robert W. Filion’s Athena is ready to burn the whole trailer park down!  By combining couture fashions from designer Louis Machicao with a stellar cast composed of genre veterans such as Matthew Ewald (G.H.O.S.T. & Galidor) and Vanelle (Muticia’s Movie Morgue & RAGS) and adding grotesque special FX from Starr Jones – Robert W. Filion’s Athena is sure to please genre fans as much as it will appeal to fans of good old fashioned love stories.

You heard about the response to the Athena teaser at Mad Monster Party and you want to see what the fuss is all about.  You’ll have to wait until 2013 to see the whole thing – but for now you can enjoy the first official trailer. Check it out right here on Trailer Park Thursday at Mutantville.com.

Muticia’s Movie Morgue marks new era for Horror Hostdom and Zombie Day is coming on Mutantville Mondays!

Muticia's Movie Morgue is open for business!

Welcome back to Mutantville Mondays, oh faithful mutants.  The Mutantville Mothership was abuzz with activity over the weekend as we made it through day one on the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue Episode One: George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead.  We were able to shoot through thirteen scenes with countless setups over the course of the day on Saturday and we couldn’t be happier with the final results.

The footage looks spectacular and we’re sure that you will all enjoy what you see.  The first hurdle has been cleared so we’re setting our sights on the next one.  Join us again in two weeks on Sunday April 15th for Zombie Day on the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue.   We’ll be putting an undead horde of zombies to work on the set that day so make sure you don’t miss it.

Thank you all for making this weekend’s shoot so special.  It was one of the smoothest and most fun shoots we’ve had at the Mutantville Productions Studios in ages.  Enjoy your rest this week and spend some quality time with your family.

We’ll see you all in two weeks for Zombie Day!  Spread the word.  Join the fun.  Keep it MVP.

Muticia Says Cast Your Rondo Vote Today, Movie Morgue Opens Tomorrow & MVP Goes Insane with the Mad Monster Party on Fridays with MVP!

Rondo Award voting ends Sunday at midnight! Muticia the Movie Goddess wants you to vote!

Welcome back to another edition of Fridays with MVP!  We’re one week past the Mad Monster Party and the First Annual Mad Monster Party Film Festival and less than twenty-four hours away from the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue.  Muticia the Movie Goddess made her debut just last week at the Mad Monster Party in Charlotte and to say she was a big hit would be a huge understatement.

We need a favor from you all –voting for the Tenth Annual Rondo Awards ends this weekend.  We need you to cast your vote right away!  Several of our friends are nominated for Rondo Awards this year so quite naturally we want you to vote for them!  All of our friends at Exploited Cinema, Mad Monster Magazine, Fright Night Film Fest, Profondo Cinema, Deadpit.com, Shloggs Horror Blog and even good old Dr. AC have been nominated this year.  Now, sadly three of my friends are competing for best horror podcast.  That means I can only pick one – which makes this easy because they were the only podcast to have Streebo and the Mutantville Players on as guests last year so that makes them the best in my book – EXPLOITED CINEMA.  Cast your Rondo Award vote for Mad Monster Magazine, Exploited Cinema, Redshirt Pictures, Shloggs Horror Blog and Dr. AC and whatever else you like.  Just copy the MVP list below and email it to taraco@aol.com and you’re done!
