This week on Trailer Park Tuesday, we’re going to do something out of character – we’re going to talk about ourselves. I know! Crazy, right?
It’s been a long hard road from pre-production in 2009 to the conclusion of post-production at the end of 2011 for G.H.O.S.T. (2011). G.H.O.S.T. (2011) started as an idea for an original television pilot and along the way grew and morphed into a full length feature. It was a labor of love from beginning to end and was only made possible by the contributions of so many talented individuals from North Carolina and specifically the Charlotte area.
Work is still ongoing on the final score for G.H.O.S.T. but after that it’s but a few steps away from the DVD release. Beyond that we do have some cool things planned for the future so stay tuned for an official announcement soon. MVP would like to send out a round of thanks to everyone involved in the making of G.H.O.S.T. (2011).
Without all of you, it wouldn’t have been possible. So without further ado – check out the trailer for the supernatural thriller G.H.O.S.T. (2011) starring Kathy Butler Sandvoss, Matthew Ewald, Steven D. Tucker, Clint Jones, Dave Tunik, Jason Wheeley, Jack Stecher, Kayli Tolleson and more local talent than you can shake a EPK monitor at! Featuring fashion designs by Luis Machicao and special make-up FX by Todd A. Britt, you won’t believe your eyes.

The Mutantville Players were on hand for a private preview screening of Ghost Trek on Saturday March 26th in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ghost Trek was created by writer/co-director Michael Plumides, author of Kill The Music, as a response to the reality-TV craze. Co-directed and photographed by Robert W. Filion (See The Dead, Tales From Mutantville), Ghost Trek was filmed in December 2010 in various locations around Charlotte. Plumides and his girlfriend Anne Saunders welcomed the cast and crew of Ghost Trek and various special guests to their home for an evening of ghostly entertainment.
Visitors were welcomed by the sight of the Ghost Trek van out front – with the blue ghost lights blazing for all to see. Inside, the guests mingled with cast members such as Michael Melendez, Julia Bullock, Brett Gentile, Kevin Johnson and little Addy Miller of The Walking Dead. Co-directors Michael Plumides and Robert W. Filion oversaw the proceedings and entertained everyone.
After a sizable amount of carousing, the assembled throng was greeted by Plumides who thanked everyone for the support and for coming to the screening and prepared everyone for ghostly things to come. Ghost Trek tells the story of Dr. Zeke Wallace (Michael Melendez) and his PUDS team as they investigate the infamous Kinsey House – the former home and final resting place of child beauty queen Tyler Rae Kinsey (Addy Miller). This morning – a video marked “G.H.O.S.T. trailer” has appeared on the Mutantville Players Youtube channel and the internet seems all abuzz about this sneak peek at the latest full length feature from the MVP team.
No official word yet on a release date as writer director J.T.”Streebo” McRoberts states that “there are still a lot of visual FX and music to be done – but we’re making progress every day. The performances we captured were amazing and we’ve put every little horror movie trick we could think of in the movie. In the end – it will be worth the wait.”

Mutantville Productions is headed back to the set this week as the new shooting schedule for “G.H.O.S.T.” begins in earnest! Principle photography was completed in November, pick ups were filmed over December, and the first assembly was completed over the winter holiday. After the first cut came in at a healthy 47 minute run time – producers Brent Bowers, Geo Blalock and writer/director J.T. McRoberts decided to invest in shooting some new scenes to expand the short film into a full length feature. After weeks of heavy work on the script for new scenes – the pieces are set in motion and MVP is on it’s way back to the set.
This week – we stop at a local bookstore where the fans will have a chance to meet and greet the one and only G.B. Cunningham from “G.H.O.S.T. “ Actors Dave Tunik and Davis Osborne are excited to head back to the set to bring the new scene to life. Filming on these additional scenes will continue through the few months and is expected to conclude in April. Keep watching Mutantville.com for your up to the minute MVP news!

We reviewed the first assembly of G.H.O.S.T. last night and the verdict is in – it looks great! We were very pleased with what we have so far. Plans have been set in motion to shoot additional scenes for G.H.O.S.T. to expand the proposed short film into a full length feature! We’re planning a horrific new intro scene to set the tone for the movie as well as a few new introductory scenes for the members of our G.H.O.S.T. team. The wheels have been set in motion and a new schedule will be planned out over the coming weeks. The new scenes should put us back in front of the camera for the next few months – extending the filming of G.H.O.S.T. into the spring. We couldn’t be happier with our progress on G.H.O.S.T. and can’t wait to share it with you all.
The energy is high on the Mutantville Mothership as the producers of MVP meet tonight to review the first assembly of G.H.O.S.T.. G.H.O.S.T. was originally proposed as a five minute short for the Chiller Dare to Direct contest – but was expanded in a longer 30 minute short film. The first cut of G.H.O.S.T. came in at a unexpected 47 minutes. Everyone is so pleased with what we have so far – that we are excited about the possibility of expanding G.H.O.S.T. into a full length feature with an approximate run time of 70 minutes. Tonight we will discuss what works or doesn’t work in the first cut as well as going over the visual FX needed and possible approaches to the score. We will also have our final discussion on the new scenes to be filmed to lengthen the movie before locking them into a new version of the script. What a long strange trip it’s been – and we’re only getting started!
