Fright Night Film Fest 2011 Photos on Fridays with MVP!

It seems like it was only yesterday but it feels like a lifetime ago that the Mutantville Players were at the Fright Night Film Fest in Kentucky.  MVP made the 8 hour trip to meet the Master of Horror John Carpenter – director of Halloween, The Thing, In The Mouth of Madness, Cigarette Burns, and The Ward. Over the course of the weekend our mission was accomplished and we had an amazing time.

Now we want to share our pics of the Fright Night Film Fest and Fandom Fest with you!

Fridays with MVP: Streebo’s Pre-Fright Night Film Fest Update!

It’s been a very productive week so far with the successful completion of the Muticia’s Movie Morgue segments for Tales From Mutantville.  Cast and crew spearheaded by the lovely Vanelle brought the character of Muticia to life.  The shoot went very smoothly and we had an absolute blast shooting the scenes. Big thanks to everyone who came out to make it possible – and of course a big thank you goes out to everyone that helped make Tales From Mutantville possible – we couldn’t have done any of it without you!

This weekend we’re still racing to get ready for the big convention next week – the Fright Night Film Fest in Kentucky.  We’re prepping shirts, updating websites, completing post-production on Tales From Mutantville and so much more in an effort to be ready for the con.  Actually, we’re getting ready for two conventions, because this year promoter Ken Daniels is putting on two great cons for the price of one with the addition of Fandom Fest.

Fright Night Friday!

TGIF my fellow Mutants! It’s Friday and the weekend is upon us. No the title of this article is not in reference to the upcoming remake that has so many horror fans’ anal sphincters in a knot – we’re talking about a film festival – the Fright Night Film Fest to be exact. Hopefully you’re aware by now that the guest of honor this year is none other than John Carpenter director of Halloween, Cigarette Burns and the soon to be released on July 18th – The Ward.

This is the year fans get two cons for the price of one! When you buy your ticket to Fright Night – you are also buying your ticket to the Fandom Fest. In case you’re not familiar with it – all you need to know is that the guest of honor is Henry Winkler!

Why not take a moment to get caught up on our interview with the promoter of the Fright Night Film Fest – Ken Daniels? We’ve posted the first five segments of the interview so far and have several more to go in the lead up to the Fright Night Film Fest and Fandom Fest on July 22 – 24th! Get caught up to speed on Fright Night, then go order your tickets from the Fright Night website by clicking here.

ABOMINATIONS Casting This Weekend!

ABOMINATIONS

Screenplay by: Chad Law
Producer: Carolina Filmworks & Image Impact Group
Director: Robert W. Filion

Tagline: What is the Boogeyman afraid of?

Synopsis: After facing the gruesomeness of war in the Middle East, a weary and jaded Val Worthington returns home to his sister Alex. Despite much protest, Alex ropes Val into camping in the mountains for the weekend with her and her college friends. Instead of finding fun and adventure, the group stumbles upon something so ghastly it would give the Boogeyman nightmares.

Carolina Filmworks and Image Impact Group are currently seeking professional and experienced actors for a trailer for the upcoming Feature film ABOMINATIONS. The trailer will be used to secure funds for the project. While there are several roles available for the feature we are only casting three roles at this time. Please note that because this is an investor trailer, work is on a volunteer basis. However it is our hope that in casting the trailer we will also have our leads cast!

Only submit if you fit the breakdowns below. Anyone not fitting descriptions below will not be considered. Note: these are the three lead characters.

David Arkem: Male/30+/ 6’7”(will consider over 6’3”)/Massive but not overweight/Gruff voice/Sadistic/Grizzly/Intimidating…our Boogeyman. (Think Kane Hodder)

Alex Worthington: Female/22 Younger sister of Val. Caring and nurturing she worries about her brother’s state of mind post war. All American girl next-door type, unassuming but more than meets the eye.

Val Worthington: Male/25 War torn soul that returns home somewhat detached from the life he once loved. Loyal but cynical. Would prefer to be left alone.

The location for auditions is not yet set and will most likely be February 13th.

Please follow submission directions to be considered:

LOCAL HIRES ONLY! (Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas)

Again, only submit if you fit the above breakdown.

Copy and Paste Head shot and Resume into email. No attachments. You may include links to video clips.

Subject line should say ABOMINATIONS/Character you are auditioning for i.e. ABOMINATIONS/Alex Worthington

Send submission to Vanelle [AT] gmail.com

More casting information will be released in the upcoming months. All roles will be paid in the feature version.

Thank you for your interest!
