On this week’s Classics Corner, we’re going to feature Wes Craven’s “Last House on the Left.” This film was released in 1972 and stars Sandra Peabody, Lucy Grantham, David Hess, Fred J. Lincoln, Jeramie Rain, Marc Sheffler, Richard Towers and Cynthia Carr. The official synopsis is “A pair of teenage girls are headed to a rock concert for one’s birthday. While trying to score marijuana in the city, the girls are kidnapped by a gang of psychotic convicts.” See kids…that’s what happens when you try to get drugs!

Welcome back to another Mutantville Mondays oh dear mutants. We had another productive weekend as MVP moved several projects through various stages of production. In addition to testing the HD plugins for G.H.O.S.T., we completed all of the Muticia’s Movie Morgue segments for the Tales From Mutantville DVD and finished the first draft of The Metatron Files.

Welcome back to Fridays with MVP, oh faithful Mutants. It’s been another wild and chaotic week on the Mutantville Mothership where we’ve been hard at work on several projects in various stages of productions including Muticia’s Movie Morgue, Indigo Child, Scarecrow At Midnight, Tales From Mutantville, The Metatron Files and G.H.O.S.T. In world horror news, Fright Night(2011) and Conan The Barbarian performed poorly at the box office while Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is poised to surprise everyone this weekend.
It’s been a crazy couple of months for MVP. It seems like only yesterday that Geo and I were prepping for the trip to the Fright Night Film Fest/Fandom Fest and now it’s all over like a dream.
We’re still uploading our videos and interviews from the convention to Youtube as there’s been a work overload this week that has delayed the last few uploads but I assure you that they are coming! And of course several projects are in various stages of production including post-production on Indigo Child, Family Fiend, and G.H.O.S.T. as well as pre-production of new scripts, updating websites and planning countless other endeavors that are sure to thrill and chill you all. You’ll just have to stay tuned to Mutantville.com to find out!

True Blood, Dexter and The Walking Dead have been keeping horror alive on the small screen for the past few years – but this weekend, horror makes it’s long awaited return to the big screen with Final Destination 5! Over the coming weeks, we’ll see the Horror floodgates open as we are hit almost back to back with the remake of Fright Night, Apollo 18, Red State, the Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark remake produced by Guillermo Del Toro and finally Paranormal Activity 3 which has taken over the Halloween spot from the SAW franchise! It’s FRIDAYYYYY!!! Another work week is behind us and a weekend full of potential lies in the road before us! Before you head out the door for a three day celebration of Bacchanalian proportions, MVP has your movie, TV and horror news to set you on the right path. It’s been a busy week for MVP as we finalized the sound mix for Scarecrow At Midnight, designed a graphic t-shirt for Family Fiend and moved that much closer to completing the digital FX for Indigo Child.
Sad news came to the world last Thursday as master storyteller Gene Colan passed away. MVP honored his memory by featuring his work on Collector’s Corner as well as Scary Movie Saturday. Look for Gene to be featured on Collector’s Corner again next week with a special look at his work on Tomb of Dracula.

The BIG news is that the premiere Mutantville Player – Matthew Ewald – has been added to the guest list to the Fright Night Film Fest on July 22 – 24th! Fans will know Matthew not only as the star of Galidor but also as the man behind the mask of “Sawbones” in Scarecrow At Midnight as well as the man beneath the collar of Fr.Connor McClennan in Indigo Child. The multi-talented actor/author will be in attendance to promote his book – Human Nature – as well as Tales From Mutantville and the Plan 9 remake. Buy your tickets now to what is sure to be the best convention of the summer!
The big news in MVP land this week is that we have found an event at which to premiere the entire Tales From Mutantville anthology. We’ll release an official announcement very soon – but in the meantime be very happy. This is going to be an historic event and one people will remember for a long time to come. MVP is honored to be a part of it.
MVP would like to give a quick shout out of congratulations to our friends at Sharpe Edge Films and Last Call Pictures as they both have films that have been accepted to the upcoming Fright Night Film Fest in Kentucky. That’s right – Monomaniacal and Desdemona 6 will play at the show and the guest of honor is none other than the Master of Horror himself – John Carpenter! Congratulations, guys!
