Welcome back to another Mutantville Monday here at Mutantville.com. We had another busy weekend aboard the Mutantville Mothership as we sat down Saturday to record the commentary tracks for the Tales From Mutantville anthology. We sent off a working print of Indigo Child for submission to the 14th Annual Nevermore Film Festival in February.
Composer Martin Bowes of Attrition is still hard at work on the original score for G.H.O.S.T. We’re doing our best to keep ourselves busy on various projects in MVP Land such as completing several interviews we have on hand as well as working up exciting new scripts for future MVP projects. There’s too much to go into detail now so we’re going to leave you with a few videos from the world of horror but before we go – check out this nice write up on Scarecrow At Midnight from the fine folks at Horror Society.
Welcome to another edition of Fridays with MVP! This week we have something special for you as MVP’s own Kathy Butler Sandvoss has started her own fanpage on Facebook. Friends of MVP will know Kathy from the recent trailer for G.H.O.S.T. and all of you will be able to see the amazing performance she conjured up for the making of G.H.O.S.T. when the movie hits DVD and theaters this winter. Check out Kathy Butler Sandvoss’ Corner with the touch of a button. There’s wine and cheese for all.
Welcome back to another edition of Streeborama, my fellow Mutants. It’s Thursday and we’re all still a bit worn out from the tremendous pace we’ve kept up over the past few years. In short – we began pre-production on G.H.O.S.T. in the summer of 2009, began filming in October 2009 and have been busy working steadily since. Only now after we’ve locked in the final cut and FX of G.H.O.S.T. are we ready to slow down and take a bit of a breather.

When I was a young lad, I never watched horror movies. Looking back I had seen some horror movies, I just wasn’t aware they were horror movies and no I’m not talking about that Britney Spears movie Crossroads (not to be confused with the movie with Ralph Machio and Steve Vai). I’m talking about movies like Jaws. I even saw Jaws 3D in the theater. Continue Reading…

There’s a slight chill in the morning air, orange decorations and colored candy highlights the aisles of the local stores, and horror movies are hitting the theater with a vengeance! That’s right – the Halloween season is just around the corner. For a genre that so many fans are claiming is on life support – there sure are a lot of horror films being released over the next two months!
MVP has a busy weekend of us working on post on G.H.O.S.T. so there’s little time to wax poetic on the current state of affairs. With some luck we’ll get a v-log up over the weekend as well as a few more new reviews in addition to releasing a few more cool interviews from the Fright Night Film Fest. We’re here to celebrate horror and give you a few tips on what you need to take the kiddies/mom/girlfriend/BFF to see at the theater this weekend!
Happy Monday, oh faithful Mutants. Another fun weekend at the box office has passed leaving us all bleary eyed and sleepy as we start a new work week. Since we’re past the halfway point of the year, we thought what better time than now to share our thoughts on the year in horror 2011 (so far). In this video, Streebo shares his thoughts on the horror genre for the calendar year 2011.
This week in honor of the upcoming Fright Night Film Fest in Kentucky next month – we’ve decided to bring you another Carpenter classic. This time out – it’s Stephen King that’s behind the wheel of the script with Carpenter taking the directorial reigns in Christine!
So what are you waiting for? You want to watch horror movies online for free? Well here’s a classic. Grab your burger, fries and get down to the sock hop – because Christine is about to wreck havoc on the unsuspecting populace! It’s Scary Movie Saturday!!!
Click more below to watch the movie at Mutantville.com!
If you’ll note on most of Streebo’s video’s as well as my own modest video contributions to Mutant TV, which of course is located at Youtube.com/mutantvilleplayers, if we’re not in front of some theater movie poster marquee, we’re snug in our home media vestibules to expose the awesomeness of horror movies or whatever we are watching at the moment.
Hauled Up to the New Space
From time to time the movies or magazines behind us change to match the current topic. In my case, the most recent change was less than sublte. The Mutantville Mothership VHS archive simply outgrew the space it was stored in. To prevent the closure of the BlockBuster video across the street from where I type this article presently from being a complete loss, I capitalized and purchase some of their media racks at some seriously low, low prices.
While this sort of an upgrade has been needed for a long, long time at Brentoville, the results surprised even me. Each rack holds approximately 936 DVD sized items. Once everything is hauled into the new space, VHS will occupy one rack with DVD media on the other. I should be able to get a handle on exactly how many VHS, DVD & Games I own. Knowing that funny little number is a part of the fun of collecting so I’m looking forward to discovering it.
Liam Likes The New Video Store Upstairs
Over the next several days I’ll be adding photos to this article to share the evolution of my new office/creatives pace/ video backdrop/ media library in the newly refurbished upstairs office in my home. Stay tuned.
Stumbled upon this while flipping channels last night. Night of the Creeps in HD on the Monster HD network. You better believe the DVR was recording!!!
“Night of the Creeps” was written and directed by Fred Dekker and stars Jason Lively, Steve Marshall, Jill Whitlow, Tom Atkins, Wally Taylor, Bruce Solomon, Vic Polizos, Allan Kayser and David Paymer. I was looking at some list of classic horror movies and I saw “Night of the Creeps” on there. I was lucky enough to catch a panel with the case at Fright Night Film Fest last summer. It was awesome. They were all very cool, very funny and still had a great chemistry even though they hadn’t seen each other in years. It’s very useful for me to listen in on panels like this. You get to learn first hand about different directorial styles and what helps actors on set. Always interesting to me.
So here are some clips, pics blog post about “Night of the Creeps!”
Night of the Creeps (1986). After some debate, I decided to venture back into the 1980s for my vieweing pleasure. As I sit here coughing, I hope that this cold passes and I am not stuck here on my couch for long. Until then, the 1986 …
Night of the Creeps not only presented zombies, it presented aliens, visual stimulation, and a plot that didn’t need complication. I was completely impressed with how good this film was, and scratched my head in regards to how lousy …
The cult classic we all learned to love in 20 years of late-night cable reruns is at long last coming to DVD. We catch up with writer/director Fred Dekker and discover his sole requirement for a long-awaited sequel.
Tom Atkins sits down with John Torrani at Monstermania to r eminence about old films like Lethal Weapon, Striking Distance, and Night of Creeps. Tom also talks about My Bloody Valentine 3D and the new film Drive Angry.

The first time I saw Tod Browning’s Dracula, I wasn’t very impressed. I attribute this less to the film itself and more to the fact that I saw it as part of a university class that was all about depictions of vampires in film and …
