“It Won’t Be Confused with the Best Ghosts and Haunted House Movies Ever Made but G.H.O.S.T. Will Entertain!”

“It Won’t Be Confused with the Best Ghosts and Haunted House Movies Ever Made but G.H.O.S.T. Will Entertain!” claims writer/director J.T.McRoberts in a recent interview with Flaps magazine in the UK. “We worked hard on it for about three years. We had a great cast headed by Kathy Butler Sandvoss, Steven D. Tucker, Scott Thomas and more! The story was fun to us. We enjoyed telling the story of this determined professional business woman on her quest to save her ghost hunting television show from cancellation oblivion.” “Everyone had fun on the set. The cast and crew used to scare each other while waiting between setups by daring people to go into the unlit areas of the opera house alone. No one ever would. We were all spooked out by it. Some nights we would talk about the real life ghost stories while we ate craft services. Story-wise, I hope it will pleasantly surprise people that are both fans and detractors of the found footage and ghost hunting sub-genres of horror films. We tried to approach it in a mixed-media way. Some scenes were black and white while others were in vibrant color. We had to make these fake intros for the fictional G.H.O.S.T. TV show so that part of the movie plays like an episode. The movie bounces from P.O.V. footage to third person cinematic view without warning. We see character’s dreams. We see everything really. We hope people like it.” The full interview will be available by picking up your copy of Flaps #23 from your local newstand. Pick up your copy of G.H.O.S.T. from Createspace or Amazon –...

MVP appears on the Paul Brown Show!

MVP appears on the Paul Brown Show!

Mar 7, 2013

This past week, MVP accepted an invitation to appear on the Paul Brown Show here in Charlotte, NC. What follows is an interesting interview as upon our arrival we were given instructions from the station manager not to expressly promote anything for sale during the interview which made promoting all the MVP events quite tricky. Regardless, it wound up being a fun interview and we were still able to get the MVP message across. Special thanks to Paul Brown and his crew for welcoming us on their set. Check it out after the leap! Part One: Part Two: For more information on the upcoming Mad Monster Party – visit the official website here. For more information on G.H.O.S.T. or Tales from Mutantville – visit the Facebook...

Tales & G.H.O.S.T. Final DVD’s

Tales & G.H.O.S.T. Final DVD’s

Mar 6, 2013

It’s been a long road, mutant children, getting from there to here. Check out the video after the leap wherein Johnny Brento holds in his hands a physical copy of the professional pressed DVD for both G.H.O.S.T. & Tales from Mutantville. These sweet babies are hot off the presses and you can pick them up down at your local S-Mart for a mere $19.95. Remember, shop smart. Shop S-mart! Ok, so perhaps S-Mart should be Mad Monster Party over by the Mutantville Table and photo op with Muticia. In any case having the DVD’s at LONG LAST ready to sell is a beautiful thing. There are far too many fond memories from both of these productions to share here. Suffice to say that a lot of tender loving care went into the production of both. Once always looks for that moment to say, this or that project is finally done. I have to believe that holding the finished DVD in your hands is one such milestone. It’s been a fun ride and I know I speak for both of my partners and myself when I say that we are proud of both, but ready to move onto the creation of new works. It’s kind of like seeing your child move on out into the real world, I’d imagine. You love them an insane amount but things are squeezed by your love and attention at home. Will the world love them as you do. One can only hope. At any rate, that time has now finally arrive. Spread your wings and fly my movie children. Your 3 Daddy’s love...

Thank Muticia and the Movie Gods that it’s finally Friday! It’s been another wild and wet week here aboard the Mutantville Mothership. Theater time doesn’t get any better than this and the gang at Retrofantasma always put on a great show. Make sure you tell Jim that Streebo sent ya! Meanwhile on the Mutantville Mothership, besides dealing with hackers stealing our Twitter ID, we’ve managed to put the final touches on the special edition DVDs for both G.H.O.S.T. and Tales from Mutantville and can finally close the book on post-production work for both titles. We are literally in the process of launching our online campaign to get both DVDs online for everyone to order whether it be from Amazon.com or Mutantville.com. Keep watching this space for more info as that develops. Get the rest of your hot MVP injection after the leap! At the beginning of the week we announced the upcoming Scarecrow at Midnight screening at the upcoming BAFS October Screams presentation at the Carolina Cinema Crownpoint in Charlotte. Be sure to join us next Thursday at 7:30pm for the show. We’ll announce a selection of door prizes and special MVP giveaways that we’ll have available next week. This will most likely be the final time that our short film plays in a live theater and forever after fans will have to be satisfied by watching the Tales from Mutantville DVD at home. To begin a month of non-stop promotion – we unveiled the latest episode of MVP Mutant Radio where we spoke with independent filmmaker Jayson Densman about his films Party Girl (2009) and Jeremy C. Shipp’s Egg (2009). Jay shared his production stories including a cool story about how he almost signed Marilyn Burns of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame to play the lead role of Party Girl. Over the past few months, the identity of the MVP Mutant Radio show has continued to evolve and...

ConCarolinas, G.H.O.S.T. and Cleve Hall make for one helluva a good con!

Welcome back to another edition of Mutantville Mondays oh faithful Mutants! ConCarolinas has come and gone and with it the festival premiere of G.H.O.S.T. We’re all basking in the glory of a very fun screening Friday night followed up by a tremendous convention all weekend long. MVP had a blast making new friends and running into a few old ones. Speaking of Old Ones – Streebo had the chance to moderate a panel on H.P.Lovecraft as well as several panels on promotion, podcasting, filmmaking and the like. It was a non-stop party from beginning to end and it warms the cockles of my heart to know that North Carolina has so many conventions and festivals that are friendly to genre filmmakers. We can’t wait to come back for next year. Get the rest of your MVP update after the leap! There be vids too. ; ) We would like to send out a round of thanks to the Mutantville Players that were able to come out and join us for the event. Kathy Butler Sandvoss, Jack Stecher, Greg G., and Todd A. Britt all helped make for a good time with good friends. We’ll have plenty of interesting stories to share from the screening but in the meantime we’ll just say that people were running in and out of the theater so fast to tell their friends about G.H.O.S.T. that even Cleve Hall of Syfy’s Monster Man came in the see what the commotion was all about. Along the way we met the great Jeffrey Combs, Cleve Hall, Gail Z. Martin and the super cute cosplayer Daphne and so many more fans and friends. Big round of thanks to Ron McClung, Carol Clowes and the rest of the staff for making ConCarolinas so fun. It’s times like this that make it all worthwhile. Thank you all for a great weekend and we’ll see you in four weeks in Kentucky for the Fright Night Film Fest with special guest Bruce Campbell!!! Prometheus is coming out this week so here’s a selection of cool Mutant TV vids to get you through your work day....
