This week on Scary Movie Saturday we’re featuring a new release that we stumbled across on Youtube - We Need To Talk About Kevin. We Need To Talk About Kevin is currently making a limited theatrical run across the US. We’ve been hearing nothing but good things about We Need To Talk About Kevin ever since it hit the festival circuit this past year.
We Need To Talk About Kevin tells the story of Kevin’s mother as she struggles to love her strange child, despite the increasingly vicious things he says and does as he grows up. But Kevin is just getting started, and his final act will be beyond anything anyone imagined.

Deviling director Michael Sharpe with actor Catherine Trail of Monomaniacal.
Welcome back to another edition of Scary Movie Saturday here at Mutantville.com. This week, we’re featuring the latest work from our horror filmmaking cohort in crime – the very talented Michael Sharpe. Deviling tells the tale of mortician Ronald and his attempts to reunite with his estranged girlfriend. It’s a story that hits close to the heart for a lot of us and believe me when I say the ending will make you shiver in fear. Well you won’t have to wait for the Nevermore Film Festival to see Deviling when you can watch it right here!
So what are you waiting for? Indie horror is alive and well and you can watch Deviling streaming online – right now – for free! It’s Deviling on Scary Movie Saturday!
This week on Scary Movie Saturday, we’re featuring a modern classic from the demented mind of the Japanese master of horror – Junji Ito – Uzumaki.
The story concerns the inhabitants of the small Japanese town of Kurôzu-cho as they become obsessed by the occurrences of natural and artificial spirals around them. The result of this obsession is a slow transformation into something other than human, leading to a gruesome, realistically-depicted death.
It’s the darkest day of horror the world has ever known – it’s George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead! In 1969, George A. Romero changed the genre of horror as we know it and the way films are made as we know it with his seminal zombie classic Night of the Living Dead. He followed that up almost a decade later with the now equally important Dawn of the Dead which ushered in an era of gore films. In the 80′s Romero found himself unable to secure the financing he wanted for his third entry in the zombie series and was forced to scale the entire project back.
When Day of the Dead was finally released – fans of his previous two films didn’t know what to make of the bleak nihilistic tale of terror that unfolded before them. With time – Romero’s Day of the Dead has come to be heralded as another classic in a series filled with classics. It’s a personal favorite of the Mutantville Players and we’re happy that someone uploaded it to Youtube so that we could share it with you here.
(Witness the darkest day of horror the world has ever known after the leap!)

Scream 4 is still trying to make bank at the theaters this week so the doctors of horror at Mutantville decided we’d bring you a movie with the word “Scream” in the title! Well you’re in luck because we’ve found a little cult classic starring the luscious Pam Grier and the regal William Marshall in a movie that has “Scream” in the title not just once – but TWICE! It’s Scream, Blacula Scream on Scary Movie Saturdays! It’s the full movie. It’s free. It’s Saturday. Enjoy!

Work for G.H.O.S.T. started back in January with the launch of the MVP Blog here at Mutantville.com and the beginning of intense pre-production on G.H.O.S.T.. The cast and crew put in many a long day and night throughout production during October and November and we’ve carried that level of intensity into post-production by shooting pick ups all through December. We started editing during the second week of filming and are finally nearing completion of the first assembly of G.H.O.S.T..
There is so much going on behind the scenes that’s it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep producing timely updates in addition to doing the actual work. This has been an amazing adventure so far. The footage looks great. The performances were fantastic and the special make-up FX are spectacular. Just as it seems we’re nearing the end – we are in fact reaching a new beginning. It’s not official yet – but we are working on ideas for new scenes to shoot for the movie – to expand it from it’s intended half hour format into a full length feature! That’s right – we will still be able to cut G.H.O.S.T. down to a very tight half hour TV pilot s intended – but there is enough material there that with a few smart additions – we can expand the story a touch and turn G.H.O.S.T. into a full movie.
I’m so excited that I can hardly contain myself. While this is good news for us – it also means that this non-stop rollercoaster of work that we’ve been on since July will continue for the foreseeable future! Thank you all for your help in making this dream a reality. Everyone in MVP plays an important role and we couldn’t have made our movie without you! Keep checking the MVP Blog for more updates as they happen!
