We’re changing gears slightly again this week as we focus not on a movie – but a video game. This is the last video game to bear Clive Barker’s name and although there was a planned sequel nothing has come of it meaning that Barker’s fans who want more video games from him will have to make do with Clive Barker’s Undying from 2002 and Jericho from 2007. Clive Barker’s Jericho tells the story of a black ops squad called Jericho consisting of a variety of sorcerous and psychic commandos and their battle to keep the demonic Firstborn from bursting through inter-dimensional gates into our world.
Sounds epic doesn’t it? Well it is epic! You get to play a variety of these black ops agents in what is best described as Gears of War meets Silent Hill on acid. It’s an endless assault from beginning to end and is powered by a great mythology laid out by Barker.

The San Diego Reader apparently has the Collector’s Corner hookup because they periodically post alternate and rejected versions of movie one sheets. This week – they have shared a horror film lover’s delight with an alternate design for the Halloween III Season of the Witch one sheet.
Normally we like to post links to auctions where rabid collectors like ourselves can bid on the items in question. Unfortunately this particular one sheet is so rare that you will most likely never see it for sale – anywhere. But that’s the joy of collecting isn’t it? Trying to find that impossible to find item makes life worth living. Well now Halloween III fans have a nice Holy Grail they can chase after. Check it out after the leap!
“The living will always be more dangerous than the dead.”
This week on Scary Movie Saturday – we thought we would spotlight the work of the man who is arguably the best horror filmmaker actively making horror films today – Guillermo Del Toro. Most fans are familiar with Del Toro’s mainstream work such as Hellboy, Blade II or Mimic – but we want to take a look at one of his smaller, more personal projects - El Espinazo Del Diablo or The Devil’s Backbone if you prefer the English title. We’ve discussed Del Toro and his works many times before on Mutantville.com so it is with great pride that we share this film with you today. This is what Modern Horror filmmakers should aspire to emulate. Continue Reading…

The Walking Dead Little Girl Addy Miller by Joel Robinson.
In honor of the start of the second season of the show called the Greatest Drama of the Year 2010 – The Walking Dead – the Mutantville Players are happy to welcome back the “Little Girl Zombie” herself – Ms.Addy Miller! Fans of The Walking Dead will remember Addy from the opening scene of season one of The Walking Dead which was later voted the Best Zombie Moment of the series by fans. Addy is a good friend of ours whom we were lucky enough to get to know on the set of Ghost Trek this past December and have come to enjoy spending time with her and her family at various horror conventions across the country.

Scary Movie Saturdays comes to Stellarcon 35 with Respawner! The Mutantville Players were live and in living color this weekend at the Stellarcon 35 convention in High Point, North Carolina. MVP was on hand to spread the good word of horror to the fans in attendance.
The Mutantville Players screened a fantastic selection of independent horror films including Milton, Bursters, Devil Comes Down, The Promise Jar, and the trailers for Be There In Ten and G.H.O.S.T. There was a short Q&A session between films and it all led up to the special sneak preview screening of Respawner: The Web Series Pilot. Fans in attendance said the experience was just “awesome.”
Mutantville Productions would like to thank everyone that came out to support the screening as well as to Davey and his volunteers hosting the Stellarcon 35 convention.
Included on the evening’s playlist was Robert W. Filion’s The Promise Jar. It’s a very Lovecraftian short film with a tightly packed three minute run time. It is available for viewing right now on Vimeo! Wait are you waiting for? It’s Stellarcon 35 weekend! The movie is scary. And most of all – it’s free! It’s Scary Movie Saturday!
It’s John Carpenter night this month as the Carolina Theatre in Durham kicks off the new season of Retrofantasma with a bang! That’s right, this Friday, Retrofantasma will play a killer double feature of John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness and Dark Star! Long time Carpenter fans know that Dark Star was Carpenter’s feature film directorial debut and Prince of Darkness is the second in his “Apocalypse Trilogy” which started with John Carpenter’s The Thing and concluded with In The Mouth of Madness.
It’s also worth noting that there are always great door prizes given away at Retrofantasma and this week Mutantville.com is donating a vintage copy of Fangoria #69 featuring John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness right on the cover! So come join the fun this Friday as these classic Carpenter films play in 35mm. Grab your beer and popcorn and kick back for a night of organized chaos at Retrofantasma.
Mutantville Productions is headed back to the set this week as the new shooting schedule for “G.H.O.S.T.” begins in earnest! Principle photography was completed in November, pick ups were filmed over December, and the first assembly was completed over the winter holiday. After the first cut came in at a healthy 47 minute run time – producers Brent Bowers, Geo Blalock and writer/director J.T. McRoberts decided to invest in shooting some new scenes to expand the short film into a full length feature. After weeks of heavy work on the script for new scenes – the pieces are set in motion and MVP is on it’s way back to the set.
This week – we stop at a local bookstore where the fans will have a chance to meet and greet the one and only G.B. Cunningham from “G.H.O.S.T. “ Actors Dave Tunik and Davis Osborne are excited to head back to the set to bring the new scene to life. Filming on these additional scenes will continue through the few months and is expected to conclude in April. Keep watching Mutantville.com for your up to the minute MVP news!
