Looking at Speculative Fiction from Another Dimension.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

Since we’ve expanded to Sci-Fi, why not feature Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan? Another reason to feature this is because we’ll haveĀ  a chance to meet William Shatner at the upcoming Fandom Fest in Louisville, KY at the end of July! I doubt that I’ll pay $75 for his autograph, but any panels or Q&A session with him will be awesome! I picked this one because I remember watching it as a kid with my mom…well…until the Ceti eel shot. This scene to be exact.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was directed by Nicholas Meyer and stars William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, James Doohan, Walter Koenig, George Takai, Michelle Nichols, Merritt Butrick, Paul Winfeild, Kirstie Alley and of course, Ricardo Montalban.

In the 23rd Century, Captain Spock accompanies a cadet training mission. The Enterprise is commanded by Kirk once they receive a distress call from the space station, Regula I, where the Genesis device is being developed by Kirk’s former lover, Dr. Carol Marcus, and their son, David. This device was taken by his nemisis, Khan Noonien Singh. Khan is a genetically altered human that ruled part of Earth in the late 20th century but was exiled.
