This week on Scary Movie Saturday we’re featuring a new release that we stumbled across on Youtube - We Need To Talk About Kevin. We Need To Talk About Kevin is currently making a limited theatrical run across the US. We’ve been hearing nothing but good things about We Need To Talk About Kevin ever since it hit the festival circuit this past year.
We Need To Talk About Kevin tells the story of Kevin’s mother as she struggles to love her strange child, despite the increasingly vicious things he says and does as he grows up. But Kevin is just getting started, and his final act will be beyond anything anyone imagined.
Happy Friday the 13th, Mutants! The weekend is upon us! It’s time to get out that Friday the 13th DVD and Blu ray collection and celebrate the day with a selection of greatest slasher hits. Cabin In The Woods hits theaters today and the Mutantville Players are headed back to the Evans City Cemetery this Sunday for another day on the set of Muticia’s Movie Morgue!
There’s so much going on that there’s little time to discuss. We’ve given you some cool content this week from Geo’s discussion on film lingo to Brento’s comparison of Horrorhound and Fangoria to Streebo’s Top Ten Horror Reference Books and we even gave you a nice little blooper reel from the set of the Movie Morgue. Look for Family Fiend, Indigo Child and Respawner to finally hit IMDb this week in the wake of the Tales From Mutantville premiere at Mad Monster Party! No other indie film company gives you the content and value that you find at Mutantville. We’re not called MVP for nothing.
There’s last minute prep to be done so we’re going to have to leave you with a selection of Mutant TV and a smile. Happy Friday the 13th! Keep your friends close and your machete closer!
Walk right in and grab a seat good friend! You’re just in time for a double shot of hot Streebrama goodness as we unleash a two for one special of Streeborama video updates! Up first we have Streebo’s recap of the recent events of the Mad Monster Party and Muticia’s Movie Morgue shoot followed by Streebo’s Top Ten Most Valuable Horror Books. No time for love Dr. Jones – it’s time for Mutant TV! Now bend over and get ready for 10cc’s of Streeborama!!!
Anyone who’s ever visited the office of Johnny Brento, knows well his affinity for the big two horror magazines as well as posters, action figures, VHS and virtually anything that’s been around since the 80′s, or as in the case of Horror Hound is dedicated to the Golden Age of genre entertainment.

Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? Ever been on a set or around filmmakers and it sounds like their speaking another language? Are you learning about film making and want to learn some universal terms to help describe what type of shots you want to shoot? Well in this first installment, I’m going to talk about some common film lingo and define it. So let’s get started!
Let’s talk about shots. The shot of Catherine Trail and Jodi Essex above from Family Fiend would be considered a “two shot“. I’m a fan of two shots because you really get to see the interaction between the actors in the scene. The challenge is using it for really long dialog shots, because both actors have to nail it. Although you can always get a two shot then jump in for close-ups.
After the leap we’ll learn the lingo for character shots!Continue Reading…

Greetings and Happy Easter! It’s time once again to share more holiday horror. As you may have noticed on holidays, I tend to focus on holiday related movies instead of films that may actually be classics. Night of the Lepus falls into this category.
This week…we focus on a film with killer rabbits. Is there anything more terrifying? A bunny hopping towards you with big floppy ears and a little cotton tail (I know…their tails aren’t actually cotton). Well this film may change your mind. Night of the Lepus stars Janet Leigh, Stuart Whitman, Rory Calhoun, and DeForest Kelley. It was filmed with actual domestic rabbits as well as people in rabbit suits. It was released in 1972 and was based on the book The Year of the Angry Rabbit. Continue Reading…

Nothing excites the fanboy in me more than an exciting monsterama pitting two unbelievable monsters against each other in deadly combat. From Enter the Dragon to Godzilla vs. Mothra – I love them all – and this week we’re featuring the original monster vs monster battle of the ages in Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman (1943)! It was the first of the Universal films to crossover their monsters and was considered the fifth in the Frankenstein canon while being the direct sequel to the original The Wolfman. The studio interfered in this film quite a bit during post-production removing Lugosi’s dialogue as Frankenstein and references to his blindness as condition suffered by the Monster in the Ghost of Frankenstein. So what are you waiting for? It’s Easter weekend and we have movies with monsters fighting! You can watch it streaming on your computer right now! It’s alive – it’s alive – but only on Scary Movie Saturday!
Check out the trailer below and then follow the links after the cut to see the whole movie.
