Recently, while looking up some Hammer Horror films, I discovered some new releases that are going to be released. “The Resident” with Hillary Swank and Christopher Lee. According to Hammer Films’ website, “Let Me In” based on the award winning Swedish novel and film, “Låt den Rätte Komma In” will be released in the US on October 1st, 2010. They also mention their film “Beyond the Rave’ which marks their return return after a 20 year absence.
reports BloodyDisgusting, “And Hammer Films is about to be fully rejuvenated with The Resident.” “So the images do little more than prove the film exists,” admits Movie-Moron, “But I think this film’s got potential, and the revival of …
This marks yet another departure from Hammer’s history as a purveyor of campy horror goodness, from countless Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing flicks to vampy lesbian films like The Vampire Lovers and even a dip into the “cave woman” …
HorrorBid.com “Where Horror Collector’s Call Home! ” … Below is the full press release and trailer for the British film. Co-Chairman of Exclusive Media Group (Exclusive), Guy East, and CEO of Hammer Films, Simon Oakes, announced today with President of Alliance Films, Charles Layton, that Exclusive and Alliance will co-finance Hammer’s hotly anticipated new ghost story, The Woman in Black 3D, to be directed by James Watkins. This will be Hammer’s first 3D production. …
While there is a lot of skepticism about the film I find myself looking forward to it’s release. Having Chloe Moretz as Abby is a good call, she was great as Hit Girl and it should be interesting to see Hammer Films back in action again …
The companies said their first collaboration would be inspired by Hammer’s upcoming thriller ‘Let Me In’, a remake of Swedish film ‘Let the Right One In’ written and directed by Matt Reeves (‘Cloverfield’). …
Inside you’ll find your first look at Kodi Smit-McPhee as Owen as he talks to vampire Abby (Chloe Moretz) in Overture and Hammer Films‘ Let Me In, which arrives in theaters October 1. Based on the bestselling Swedish novel, …

It’s after 1am on a Wednesday night. 8am meeting thirty minutes away tomorrow morning. But….It’s worth it. I just returned from seeing/listening to the Alice Cooper & Rob Zombie show in Charlotte. It was great!
The wait is over! Alice Cooper & Rob Zombie will share the stage for a very limited time! Get tickets and more info at www.alicecooper.com and www.robzombie.com
The night started off with Alice Cooper. I’ve always seen his performances on TV and on film but never live…so once I was invited, I wanted to see his stage show. It was cool. Lots of theatrics, which were cool. Everything sounded good as well. There is still a lot of the tour and you can find more about it on Alice Cooper’s page. TOUR DATES!
For more info – www.eagle-rock.com Alice Cooper’s live shows are legendary for their sense of rock theatre and sheer visual spectacle. This latest addition to our range of titles from the renowned Montreux Festival catches Alice Cooper at his very be…
Next on the bill…Rob Zombie! Wow. He had a huge screen behind the drums and then 3 screens behind him on stage and 2 in front. He had cool film, footage, and effects going the entire show. They had some cool footage. For you horror fans, they had some “Night of the Living Dead” there was some Japanese Anime, some campy old school looking stuff, some gogo dancers, etc… It was a great show. As a guitarist, I was impressed by John 5. I’ve watched a lot of videos with him on YouTube and knew he was great at chicken pickin’ and loves Telecasters.
Thought I’d put a little Rob Zombie on here…but decided to go more old school Zombie!
Dario Argento’s film “Suspiria” is one film I always remember from my crash course in horror films from Streebo. During pre-production, production, post production of “C for Chaos”(and even now), Streebo has educated me on horror from around the globe. While filming we would sometime let me be really intense with the colored light. He would often cite “Suspiria” as a source of inspiration. So I was looking around and thought I’d provide some information about the film to those that may not be familiar with it or those wanting to hear other’s opinions.
Susperia, directed by legendary Italian horror director Dario Argento, is the first film in the Three Mothers trilogy along with Inferno (1980) and La Terza Madre (2007). Argento, along with Goblin who wrote the musical score, …
Suspiria is considered by many to be the best work ever by Dario Argento. The use of lighting, camera angles, close-up and music (performed by The Goblins with input from Argento himself) create a sinister and surreal shroud of dread …
He’s a great director but I don’t think any reimagining will match the 1977 masterpiece that is Dario Argento’s SUSPIRIA. If you haven’t seen this horror classic for some reason, take a chance on it and watch it more than once. …
UK filmmaker, Tom Young recently posted an announcement on his blog about the completion of his long Lynchian horror short – Be There In Ten:
It’s been a long time in the making for a short but Be There In Ten is finally done. I’ve cut a second, slightly longer trailer which is below – if you’re interested in getting a copy of the full movie you can contact me by email (details on my biog page); I’ll also post any details of screenings etc. here in the meantime. Depending how things turn out we may eventually post it on the web in any case, so watch this space.
The film is sort of a cross between a relationship drama and a horror, something I’ve tried to capture in the trailer. It clocks in at around 14 minutes and features grainy Super-8 footage shot around Southbank and Hyde Park, several ghosts, some Steadicam shots made on a dark, rainy night in Chiswick, plus a couple of star turns from the two leads, Sarah Winter and James Powell.
The music at the start of the trailer is the actual music used in the credits of the film (a more extended version of which I posted previously).

Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes
before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he
was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have
all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this
terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever. Wendy

Shock Til You Drop just conducted an interview with the godfather of modern horror George A. Romero himself and they dropped the juicy tibdit of info that Romero has two more “Dead” films planned for the near future. Apparently these last two films will complete the arc begun in Diary of the Dead – much in the way that Land of the Dead concluded the arc begun back in 1968 with Night of the Living Dead. Shock Til You Drop will publish the complete interview in the very near future.
From NYTimes.com: Frank Frazetta, an illustrator whose vivid colors and striking brushstrokes conjured up fantastic worlds of musclebound heroes fighting with broad swords and battle axes to defend helpless women from horrible beasts, died on Monday in Fort Myers, Fla. He was 82.
The death, caused by a stroke, was confirmed by Rob Pistella and Steve Ferzoco, his business managers. In a telephone interview, Mr. Pistella said that Mr. Frazetta, who had a history of strokes, had returned from a Mother’s Day dinner with his family on Sunday night and fell ill. Emergency medical services were called and Mr. Frazetta was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
