MOVIE NEWS FOR MUTIES!!!

Speaking of John Carpenter – it was announced last week that Dimension films wants to move forward on Halloweeen 3 in 3D for Halloween 2012. No word yet on who is writing or directing – but according to word around here, Streebo is ready willing and able to take the assignment. ; )

In movie news Green Lantern opened to a lower than expected gross of $52.6 million domestic opening. This is well below the projected gross of $71 million which is just fine by me. I didn’t get out to see the movie yet – but it’s easy enough to tell that the movie is all popcorn fluff. There’s nothing wrong with that and it might even be good popcorn fluff – but after watching movies like Super 8 and Source Code that have so much heart  – it leaves one looking upon the shallow excess of Green Lantern with disdain. I plan on getting out to catch a matinee sometime – but it might just be a matinee at the dollar theater. In the meantime checck out this Green Lantern trailer for the movie that never was but should have been:

Star Wars padawans rejoice – as the Star Wars live action TV show is still lurching it’s way towards Bethlehem. Series producer Rick McCallum states the show is facing a lot of obstacles and is still a few years away from production. In the meantime you can warm the miticholorians in your heart by watching the last time that Star Wars came to television in the form of a live action show – The Ewok Adventure! *shudder*
