Killuride Film Festival screening Scarecrow at Midnight in honor of Streeborama.

On the set of Scarecrow at Midnight at the Myers House NC.

Welcome back to another edition of Streeborama, oh friends and fiends. I hope you’re enjoying your Streebo-less week of MVP as I am currently out of the country on a secret government mission to discover the lost mines of Kilamanjaru. Actually I’m gone for the week to celebrate with my family as my sister gets married so I’ve had to leave the keys to the MVP kingdom in the hands of Geo and Brento. Let us know what you think of how they handled things while I was away.

Since Scarecrow at Midnight is playing at the Killuride Film Festival this weekend in Myrtle Beach I thought I would share some thoughts on that particular work and what it means to me. In case you’re not familiar with XCON and the Killuride film Festival then check out their fanpage on Facebook for more information.

I just returned from my little sister’s graduation this past weekend and the commencement speaker advised the graduates to find a job in life that they love so that they will never have to work a day in their life. This statement rings very true to me because that’s exactly how we feel at MVP. We are not a big studio. What people often fail to realize is that we all work 40 week day jobs and then we go home and put in another six hours working on Mutantville projects whether it’s preproduction, postproduction, promotion or what have you. There is always something that needs to be done to keep the Mutantville Mothership flying through the stratosphere and if MVP doesn’t do it – no one will. People often ask me how we can stay so dedicated to our work and the answer is simple. We love what we do.

Every project that comes to fruition is like a new child being born into the world. It’s an amazing feeling to see what started as a blank page come into full four color life. Every project we work on is something that we are proud of and nothing makes us more proud than to see that movie play for an appreciative crowd. Scarecrow At Midnight started as a simple installment for the Tales From Mutantville anthology and has gone on to become a gem in it’s crown as it is the only chapter of the anthology that is making the rounds through the festival circuit.

Scarecrow at Midnight has played at several festivals this year and it’s next stop is at Myrtle Beach for XCON and the Killuride film festival. If you’re going to XCON then definitely take the time to check out Scarecrow at Midnight and let us know what you think. The journey from script to screenings has been an amazing one so in order to share a bit of it’s history I thought I would share some production and promotional videos for Scarecrow at Midnight including a handful of interviews from our friends such as B.Jr. at Endurance Productions and CriticNic at the House of Horror.

That’s enough talk from me. I’m enjoying the sun and surf in the jungles of Costa Rica. Somewhere there’s a howler monkey with a margarita for me. Time to put my toes back in the waves. Leave a light on for me and I’ll be back on the Mutantville Mothership in no time. Remember always that Streebo loves you and we appreciate everything you do. There would be no MVP without me or you. Never forget that.
