John Carpenter’s Halloween on Scary Movie Saturday!

This week on Mutantville.com, we’ve decided to honor the recent release of the latest effort from the Master of Horror John Carpenter – The Ward – by taking a look at Carpenter’s first great work – Halloween.  The MVP faithful will know that we go to great lengths to find the best and scariest films on the Internet for you – and this week we have something special.  We’ve found a recording of the television cut of John Carpenter’s Halloween which contains scenes and footage not seen anywhere else!

Carpenter and crew returned to the set of Halloween almost one year after the completion of the movie to add a handful of new scenes

to pad the movie out for screening on television.  The new scenes include one with Jamie Lee Curtis hiding her short haircut under a towel as well as scenes between Dr.Loomis and a still adolescent Michael Myers.  The latter of those scenes no doubt went on to serve as imspiration for Rob Zombie’s retooling of Carpenter’s classic thirty years later.
