From Fear.NET:  Shutter Island opens this Friday, and a lof of folks are probably wondering how director Martin Scorsese — who's tackled all kinds of film genres in his forty-plus year career — will handle a traditional thriller. Having seen the film, I can say that despite what its trailer promises, it's pretty far from traditional, but still terrific; and it wears its genre influences proudly on its sleeve. (In fact, with apologies to The Departed, I think the film is probably Scorses's best since Casino.) Of course, the Oscar-winning filmmaker isn't exactly a stranger to our neck of the woods. His Cape Fear was a pretty straightforward excursion into terror, and, upon close inspection, his entire oeuvre is littered with moments scarier than what's offered by most of today's horror movies. So in honor of Shutter Island, we here at FEARnet present the twelve Scariest Moments in Martin Scorsese Movies. Why only twelve, instead of the more frightening number that follows it? Because you, dear reader, are hereby invited to vote for your own after you watch Shutter Island this weekend. Its bound to give you a few chilling ideas.

MVP was on hand this past Saturday night as the Halloween tribute film “Judith” premiered in Chapel Hill. “Judith” was written by Kenny Caperton – owner of the Myers House NC – and directed by Josh Hasty – director of “A Mannequin in Static”. “Judith” expands the story of Judith Myers and her influence on her serial killer to be brother – Michael.

“TRICK-OR-TREAT! It’s Halloween day in the quiet rural community of Haddonfield, Illinois. Judith Myers and her best friend D’arcy Mims are planning a Halloween night campout at The Myers House with their friends. Judith is trying to forget the growing tensions in her family and wants to immerse herself in a carefree celebration, but her reclusive brother’s presence casts an ominous shadow over their cheerful preparations.

This short film breaths life into an often overlooked character from John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN – Judith Myers may have only had a short appearance in the classic film, but she nevertheless played a crucial role in the forming of the Michael Myers story. Director Josh Hasty (A Mannequin in Static) and writer Kenny Caperton (the creator of The Myers House NC) join forces to reinvent a classic character in an original new story.“

Poster art is truly a lost art form.  That’s why it always thrills me to see the Japanese designs for Western films.  They are simply the best produced poster works on the planet.  Let’s celebrate this lost art form by taking a peek at a few fantastic designs from the land of the rising sun.

Caroline has apearred in several local productions including the Vintage Seduction Trailer, The Trial and Chekov’s Children for director Robert Fillion.   Caroline is an extremely talented and vivacious individual who just happens to be a master of education as well as a master of fine arts.

Director J.T. McRoberts states, “I met Caroline at last month’s Charlotte Film Community meetup and was impressed by her cheerful attitude and overall effervescence.  Caroline jokingly stated that she wanted to join us on “G.H.O.S.T.”  Being the writer and director, I decided to call her bluff and wrote her into one of the new scenes.”  Caroline will join lead actress Kathy Sandvoss on the set this coming weekend to film one of the new scenes for act one of “G.H.O.S.T.”

MVP is very happy to welcome Caroline to the talented cast of “G.H.O.S.T.”  We look forward to working with her on this and many projects to come!
