Mutantville Productions is extremely proud to announce the addition of local actor – Caroline O’Neil to the cast of “G.H.O.S.T.”

McRoberts states, “I met Caroline at last month’s Charlotte Film Community meetup and was impressed by her cheerful attitude and overall effervescence.  Caroline jokingly stated that she wanted to join us on “G.H.O.S.T.”  Being the writer and director, I decided to call her bluff and wrote her into one of the new scenes.”  Caroline will join lead actress Kathy Sandvoss on the set this coming weekend to film one of the new scenes for act one of “G.H.O.S.T.”

MVP is very happy to welcome Caroline to the talented cast of “G.H.O.S.T.”  We look forward to working with her on this and many projects to come!

More “G.H.O.S.T.” Casting News: Davis Osborne Accepts Role In “G.H.O.S.T.”

MVP and Mutantville.com are proud to announce the addition of Charlotte-based actor Davis Osborne to the already stellar cast of “G.H.O.S.T.”  Davis joins Dave Tunik on the set this weekend.  He will play the part of “Joshua” in the first of a series of new scenes introducing the eponymous ghost hunting team in “G.H.O.S.T.’

Davis has appeared in a multiplicity of productions in and around the Charlotte area – including “Pursuit”, “Tolerance”, and the award winning short film “Chekov’s Children” by director Robert Fillion.

Davis initially auditioned for “G.H.O.S.T.” at the casting call back in August of ‘09 – but  was unable to accept a role at the time due to schedule conflicts.  Director J.T. McRoberts states, “I was very impressed with Davis’ auditions.  Davis quite literally blew us away with his reading.  I was always disappointed that we weren’t able to align our schedules to allow him to join us at the time.  As soon as I started reading through the new scenes and thinking of the talent in the area – Davis’ name immediately sprung to mind.  I reached out to him about participating and he graciously accepted.”

Davis’ philosophy on acting is proudly displayed on his website where he states, “every character . . . ever written, has an emotion to convey . . . to evoke in the silent bystander . . . the one in the shadows . . . the viewer.  Pity. . .hate. . .fear. . .lust. . .love. . .concern.  It is my job as the actor to search deep inside of me. . . . and find the parts of my human nature that I can use and magnify to deliver more than a performance. . .”

Matthew Ewald Joins Cast of G.H.O.S.T.

Mutantville Productions is extremely proud to announce the addition of Matthew Ewald to the cast of “G.H.O.S.T.” Ewald is flying to the east coast at the end of the month to join actor Scott Thomas in the historic opera house for a scene based during the Civil War.

Matthew starred as Nick Bluetooth on the FOX/ABC series “Galidor” and will star as the young James T. Kirk on upcoming episodes of the award winning web series – “Star Trek Voyages: Phase II.’ Matthew has starred in several films and is currently on tour for his first novel, “. . . Human. . . Nature. . .”, now available for pre-order and due out in the coming months.

Although Matthew will only shoot for one day – his role in the story of “G.H.O.S.T.” is a pivotal one that sets in motion a chain of events with deadly repercussions for each member of the G.H.O.S.T. team.

Matthew brimmed with excitement when speaking of his role, “I’m so excited, forgive me for saying it again, but wow… this is going to be amazing. I haven’t been this excited in… well… :) What can I say? This is a dream role.”

MVP is proud to welcome Matthew to the talented cast of “G.H.O.S.T.” and hopes that this marks the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Script For G.H.O.S.T. Is All But Finished!

We’ve had another busy weekend at the offices of Mutantville.com this past week. Since we finished the first cut of G.H.O.S.T. at the beginning of January – we’ve been working feverishly to complete the script for new scenes and contact all of our principle players about the possibility of returning to shoot more scenes. We are happy to announce that the entire cast has agreed to return to shoot new scenes. We’ve been lining up locations, working out new ideas and continuing with the post-production process on the visual FX of G.H.O.S.T.

Writer/director J.T. McRoberts has been working hard on the script for the new scenes and will soon send it out to the actors. He states that while the new script is all but finished – there are still one or two lines of dialogue that would – as Mark Borchardt might say -“make the pope weep” so he’s trying to iron those rough spots out first. McRoberts states “I always want my scripts to knock your you-know-what in the dirt – so there’s never a rush even when we’re pressed for time.  I promise this is the final revision.  It’s go time.  We’re eager to get everyone back in front of the camera.”

Be on the look out for another edition of On The Red Carpet with Catherine Trail and Charlotte Web Video. Mutantville’s own Streebo , Geo Swanko and actor Jack Stecher were on hand to talk to Catherine about the progress of G.H.O.S.T. and the upcoming projects at Mutantville.com.  Look for the video to be posted soon courtesy of Charlotte Web Video.

Big things lay ahead for Mutantville in the coming month. The first official G.H.O.S.T. t-shirt will soon be made available to the cast and crew.  More details on that soon.  Be sure to keep checking back as we update you on the progress of ABOMINATIONS from Image Impact Group and take you to see limited screenings of The Howling.  Be with us as we howl for the premiere of The Wolfman and come along for the ride as we give you a guided tour of the upcoming Horrorhound convention in Indianapolis featuring the screening of NIGHTBREED uncut!

Phew! All this and 2010 is just barely getting started.

MVP Wraps Another Ghostly Scene.

This past weekend, the Mutantville Players weathered the storms across two states to converge on an one hundred year old house in the sleepy town of Smyrna, South Carolina to film the scheduled last scene for G.H.O.S.T.. Director, J.T. McRoberts, cinematographer Geo Swanko, and costume designer Luis Machicao joined actors Scott Thomas and Kathy Sandvoss to bring this dreamy sequence to life.

MVP was originally scheduled to film this scene back at the beginning of December but was forced to postpone due to poor weather conditions and sub-zero temperatures. This scene was designed in order to showcase the amazing costume designs of couture designer Luis Machicao. We searched long and hard for a suitable location that would pass for a Civil War period home – Luis himself was able to secure this amazing location for us.

Sunday morning saw storms cover the Carolinas – but we were in luck as the area around Smyrna was clear. MVP decided to take the risk and go forward with the shoot.  It was quite a long trip down to the backwoods of South Carolina – but it was well worth it. The cast and crew had to drive through torrential downpour to make it to Smyrna – but everyone arrived safe and sound. We were pleased to round the bend to overcast – but calm skies and an amazing landscape nestled in a cloud of fog. The conditions couldn’t have been more conducive to filming our dream sequence if we had planned it that way.

Our hosts Kevin, Laura and Cameron were very gracious and patient with us as we dressed the cast in Luis’ gorgeous costumes and took them out in the field. Six year old Cameron was quite interested in our activities and even offered his ideas for a few horror scenes for our movie which he thought should include zombies. We had a few close scares as the sky tossed a short downpour or two on us during filming – but for the most part we went unmolested by the rain. Kathy and Scott took to their task like true professionals and we were able to shoot our way through the scene without any difficulty. Keep watching Facebook over the coming week as we share the bevy of gorgeous photos taken during the shoot.

Mutantville Productions would like to extend our most gracious thanks to our hosts Kevin, Laura, and Cameron for allowing us to come into their home. This was the scheduled final shoot of G.H.O.S.T. – but we can’t celebrate just yet. With the announced plans to continue working on G.H.O.S.T. to extend it to a full length feature run time – this is not the ending – but another amazing beginning.

Thanks, MVP. We’ll see you back on the set soon!

MVP Update From the Editing Suite.

We’ve been busy with editing and post-production full time over the holidays. This week, MVP is heading back out on location to shoot what was supposed to be our final scene for G.H.O.S.T.. As you will hear in this update – our plans for G.H.O.S.T. suddenly became much larger than we initially planned – but that is of course – a very good thing.
